Hilarious as NUFC player does a Yaya Toure after Newcastle United fail to wish him Happy Birthday

Yaya Toure made headlines back in May 2014.

The Manchester City star and his agent saying that he was thinking about leaving the club because they hadn’t done enough to celebrate his 31st birthday (see below).

That this ‘snub’ was ‘proof’ that Man City didn’t care about the player.

The football world and genera public reacted with disbelief, yes an excellent player with a stellar career behind him…but getting upset over how your club treats your birthday is just beyond belief.

Today (16 March 2018), Newcastle United have discovered that they have their very own Yaya Toure.

Sadly though, he hasn’t got the ability of Toure, just the embarrassing petulance at not being treated with the respect he deserves on his birthday.

The player in question is Ivan Toney, he turns 22 today and hasn’t started a single first team match for Newcastle United.

Despite this, he has thrown the toys out of the pram because Newcastle haven’t wished him happy birthday today, whereas loan club Scunthorpe have done.

Can you just imagine, the striker spending hour after hour refreshing his phone and looking in disbelief that the official NUFC Twitter account still hasn’t wished him happy birthday.

You only need to say the one word, not two…Embarrassing!

May 2014 – Yaya Toure agent Dmitry Seluk:

“Yaya is so upset, he is thinking of leaving City.

“There are a number of things that have happened that have left Yaya feeling bitterly upset.

“City have treated him with disrespect and have really hurt him.

“What happened at his birthday meant the club don’t care about him. It was proof.

“They can say whatever they want, ‘Oh we like him but we forgot (his birthday).’

“None of them shook his hand on his birthday.

 “It’s really sick.”
