Aleksandar Mitrovic is certainly hitting his stride now.

Rafa Benitez had refused to select the striker for a league match in nine months, so it had become an impossible situation for the Serbian striker.

A loan move to Fulham was agreed for the rest of the season and he is really reaping the benefits as he nears full fitness.

Mitrovic lasted the full game this Saturday teatime but his contribution overall was excellent.

Scoring in a 1-1 midweek draw at Bristol City, that followed an excellent display in the 2-0 win over in-form Aston Villa.

However, it was definitely cherry on top of the cake today, as a win over Wolves, who until recently had looked as though they were running away with the Championship, puts Fulham only five points off the automatic promotion places and seven points clear in terms of the play-off places.

Ryan Sessegnon put Fulham ahead today, then a superb Aleksandar Mitrovic goal (see below) made the game safe.

BBC Sport:

‘An eighth-straight home win is very much on the cards for Fulham now.

Aleksandar Mitrovic has plenty to do when he receives the ball but he shows great strength to hold off and escape the clutches of Conor Coady.

Before drilling a low shot from 20 yards past the despairing dive of John Ruddy.’

  • Angelswithdirtyfaces

He’s found his level at last :)

    • Mike Adam

What a pathetic statement that continues to be repeated.

      • Leazes.

        A true statement

        • Leicester Mag

If that were true of every Newcastle player the Hos would be at the bottom of the North Sea.

          • Leazes.

            Sea Hos

          • Mike Adam

            Now that is funny mate!!!

        • Mike Adam

Says you, I disagree. So, it is pathetic, before, the haters were saying he couldn’t score in the Championship either.

          • Dillon Tovak

Simple fact is though, he did miss many a sitter in the championship.

  • Leicester Mag

A player that scores regularly for his country who scores regularly when played regularly. If he’s not a better bet than Hos I’d bare my backside in Fenwicks window. Never given a chance

    • Leicester Mag

Lets be clear I’m no Rafa out flag waver but I do know having played myself at Centre Half he’d be a nightmare to play against. I stand by the view he has never had a full run in the team even in the championship. Some say not good enough how do we know?

      • Leazes.

We have had some strange signings, I put it down to the players who are being shipped out not being replaced with Rafa’s top listed players….. what Joselu is I don’t quite know, slimani is an 8-10 goal striker in a full season at best.

    • Andy Mac

When and where LM ? I’ll bring me polaroid ? 🤔

      • Leicester Mag

When the Hos bags 2 in 2

        • Dillon Tovak

I genuinely think Hos would bang in the championship though.

          • Mitros gotta start

Aye….bang his sneck with his knee swinging at an empty net from 3 yards and hoofing it over the bar

  • Mitros gotta start

So he was hounded out of the club by the manager for what reason?
Oh thats right…..slimani was brought in to take his spot…..how is that working out rafa?

    • Leazes.

One drop of rain on the windowpane, it doesn’t mean there’s a thunderstorm coming…..

      Snap out of it guy!

      • ghostrider

It’s not one drop though. It’s looking like a downpour and it does mean that Mitro is coming for all the teams in that league to take Fulham up into a league where he belongs…which should have been with us.

    • anyobrien

      #rafa oot

  • ghostrider

Well done to Mitro. It’s such a shame that he couldn’t be doing it for us.

  • len robson

I have just read that Sports Direct shares have rose after a share buyback, is that due to savings on not buying a fit goal scorer. As for Mitrovic as he chopped up a player in the first few seconds of coming on in his first game for us I did not think and still do not think he is a team player full stop

    • Leazes.

United’s shares are held by MASH holdings (thats fatty) who also own SD, they aren’t listed on the stock market otherwise people might buy them.

      • Blackburn1066

        More like Quaker Mash

        • Dillon Tovak

          Sunderland’s in cheesy mash holdings.

  • Desree

Lets hope he makes ashley a profit

  • Andy Mac

There will be those who claim
    1. Its the Championship FFS
    2. It’s only Wolves
    3. It’s only 2 goals in 3 games

    • Mike Adam

Well barring a huge collapse Wolves will be in the Prem next season.

      • Andy Mac

Er its only Wolves not Liverpool, Spurs or Citeh.

        • Mike Adam

So what!! And barring a huge collapse they will be in the Prem next season.

          • Andy Mac

Look up the word “sarcasm” ?

          • Mike Adam

What is your point??? Is “Er” a sound or what??? I bet you didn’t write it with sarcasm in mind the first time, maybe I am wrong?

        • Mike Adam

And Mitro has scored against Spurs and City and Manu and Arsenal, not sure about Liverpool.

    • Blackburn1066

He is having a good time it will all end soon when he gets sent off

      • Mike Adam

When will that happen? Didn’t happen at all last year either.

      • Mitros gotta start

Who cares if he gets a goal a game when he plays?

  • HarryHype59

Just a thought, can Mitro be recalled from the loan if Slimani isn’t fit for the treat of the season?

    • Andy Mac

Any loan player can be recalled however there has to be a will to recall him ?

    • Jezza

No Ashley would not allow it because it would mean paying Mitrovic’s wages again as well as reimbursing part of the loan fee.

      • HarryHype59

Probably true, but he could score the goals that allows Ashley, to get his pudgy mitts on next years £100m plus TV dosh.

        • Jezza

Dipping into the profits a little bit to strengthen the team could have guaranteed next year’s television money too but Ashley couldn’t see that either.

  • anyobrien

Ffs here we go….he’s not here deal with it…. Our striker Dwight Gayle did his job well today. …. But guess what lets write a article about another Newcastle United myth.

    • GToon

I think Mitro could have given the option of the outball as his hold up play isn’t too bad. That would have been useful today. Gayle and Perez do not give us that option. They might work hard but they are not physically up to holding off a defender and allowing players forward to support.

      • anyobrien

Here man we were two nowt up with ten minutes to go….. Pack the midfield and a ride it out… Pelemotrovicmessiardrlies could not of stopoed what happened today ffs wor defence /midfield let us doon….

    • Jezza

Myth is the right word. It’s incredible how a player who spent the entire 90 minutes being out paced, out thought and out played by average third division defenders at Oxford last season has suddenly become a world class striker simply by not playing.

      • thewildchimp

He isn’t doing anything for Fulham that he wasn’t doing for us in 2015/16, just better. It’s our manager that doesn’t want to use him, because then he has to make transitions from defence.

      • Mike Adam

I know you have me blocked becuse you say I am a troll and a Mackem, but honestly, how many times are you going to continue mention this one cup game against Oxford??? Why are you so worried about Mitro anyway??? We are on this article because we are Mitro fans, why are you here??? Maybe you are the troll. Are you Mitro haters or is it Rafa defenders here because you are so scared that Mitro’s potential success might prove Rafa wrong?

  • GToon

With ten games to go until the end of the season and every games gonna be a scrap I know who I would want to bring on for the last ten to try and get something out of the game from a choice of Joselu and Mitrovic. Rafa is doing well with what he has got but I think he’s made a mistake with Mitrovic and I’m disappointed with his treatment of Colback too.

    • Andy Mac

I know who I’d start let alone the last ten minutes. OK its a different level but Wolves have been heading to the PL without much hindrance. Villa were on a 7 game winning run. Yet Mitro has given both clubs a lot to think about in their defeats against Fulham

      • GToon

Aye, for me Mitro is “plan b”. Most teams have such a player who is brought on near the end when they are chasing the game in the last few minutes. I would have kept Mitro for that reason alone. Joselu isn’t good enough, slimani injured…..

    • Blackburn1066

Colback has the same problem as Mitrovic he wants to play his way and not the way the manager says,

      • Johnnie the John

Colback has the same problem as Mitrovic…. he’s rubbish. Throw in a nice Big dollop of disrespect for your manager and it only ends one way. It is a story told a thousand times in football. The manager has the right to decide that he doesn’t want a player. I think Rafa has kept his powder dry pretty well actually on both situations, showing his integrity. Luckily for us, at the end of the day, in this instance the two players he is getting rid of are no good.

        • Mike Adam

Says you . . . and a just as many times that said player goes on to great success with another club. Talking about Mitro only.

          • Johnnie the John

Maybe… but not based on anything we’ve seen so far. Seemingly just because he thumps his chest and growls a lot…

Mitrovic is a poor player. It won’t bother me if he does well somewhere else; good luck to him. I don’t lose a moment worrying that he’s not playing. This whole thing of using Mitrovic as a reason to criticise the manager annoys me. I’m sure Rafa will do other things that warrant criticism, but this isn’t one of them. We’ve needed someone to take a firm hand to our squad for years and now we have it. Makes a massive difference to the application of our players.

          • Mike Adam

Sure you do, you are on here responding to me, who is a Mitro fan. I for one can criticise a manager who doesn’t play his best Prem striker(stats say so), before players who do not score. All managers get things wrong and fans question them that is what sports are about, like it or not! There is no manager in any sport throughout the world who hasn’t been questioned and criticised.

    • Mrkgw

      Agree GT.

    • Jezza

Mitrovic and Colback were our two worst players in the Championship last season.

  • Cuh

    Meemeemeemeem…mitroveeeeech..

That would make a great stadium chant

    • thewildchimp

      My favourite Russian commentator.

      • Dillon Tovak

        My third fave.

  • 5floorshigh

not exactly unexpected that he is scoring……he has a decent strike rate ! but the only way it actually works is if you play him…..doh !

  • Desree

Why an article about mitro scoring and not one about dwight gayle getting two?

    • anyobrien

      Exactly absolute joke

      • Mitros gotta start

Rafa is a joke….i totally agree

        • Chuck D

So who do you want to replace him?
More to the point who do you think Ashley would bring in if Rafa left?
Rafa doesn’t rate Mitro, get over it. From all accounts he has a bad attitude in training, plus he’s hardly been prolific for us. I’ve seen him miss a number of chances which have cost us games in the past. Let’s not forget his lack of discipline.
Don’t get me wrong I’d rather have him than Joselu, but then again if Rafa had been given the funds there would be no Joselu!

          • thewildchimp

It’s not that we are upset that Rafa doesn’t rate Mitro. It’s that Rafa rates Joselu and this version of Gayle above him. Mental, to say the least.
Once it was clear that Mitro was available for loans, several clubs pounced immediately at the opportunity.

        • anyobrien

Who should we get to replace him.
          ……. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh
          He’s thinking

          • Albert Stubbins

Coleman could be available soon. Apparently he’s mustard!!

          • anyobrien

            Here all week

    • Anita kick up the Hoop

Because the two that Gayle got could have been scored by anyone, a back heel on the line and a tap in from a keeper error …we have no one who can give us what Mitrovic showed for his goal today.

      • stevetoontoon

Think your trying to say gayle was in the strikers position…. arent you?

        • Anita kick up the Hoop

Of course he was ..and that’s a skill in its own right…but overall as a premiership forward Gayle isn’t going to cut it playing on his own … my point was that we don’t have a player who can lead the line, hold the ball and link up play at the club …Mitrovic can do that

          • stevetoontoon

I agree m8 said all season play mitro before hos and co anytime…. but something has happened between mitro and rafa and nee body knaas what!!! Wish we did but hes gone now.

      • Albert Stubbins

Mitro never got in positions to score FFS. When he was given chance in championship last season apart from Norwich at home he was pants.

  • Mrkgw

Rafa got the Mitro decision wrong. Plain and simple. He didn’t give the lad the lickings of a dog and yet, he did score in his maiden Premiership season hence, I don’t buy into this theory that he has now found his level. People suggesting such have short memories. Mitro should be with our club and Rafa has gone well down in my estimation recently albeit, Ashley is chief architect in Newcastles decline over he last ten years.

  • Anita kick up the Hoop

Rafa is going to look more and more spiteful and foolish the longer Mitrovic grows in confidence and fitness… we simply don’t have a player who can hold off defenders and hold up play like Mitrovic did before turning and finishing today … every time Perez falls over, every time Gayle is brushed aside and every time Joselu shows less control than an orgasm Mitrovic rubs Rafa’s nose in it …. Slimani the crock who we are paying Leicester for the privilege of treatment was brought in because Rafa believes he gives the team EXACTLY what Mitrovic has … at 23 it’s nothing other than a disgrace that Benitez has frozen him out over two seasons … his potential is there and crying out for guidance from a supposed “world class manager”!

    • Mrkgw

Wonder is the numpties at the club inserted a recall clause? Typically, they wont have I suspect.

      • Dillon Tovak

They’d probably put in a clause where we would have to pay a loan fee to recall him, so is their incompetence.

      • Anita kick up the Hoop

Rafa had final and full control on all transfers … he stipulated that before agreeing to stay after his last relegation…

        • Jezza

Yes it was Rafa who chose not to spend any money in the January window. Ashley wanted to sign Jorgensen for £20 million but Rafa said no. Ashley wanted new signings in by the 15th or 20th at the latest but Rafa decided to wait till the very last minute to bring in an injured Leicester reserve on loan. Going back to last summer’s transfer window, in the final week, Ashley wanted to bring in a striker, a “number 10”, a left back and a keeper but Rafa refused and insisted he was happy with the players he had. In the January window before that Ashley set up a deal to bring back Andros Townsend but Rafa pulled the plug on it and wouldn’t let the club bring in any other players either. You are right. It is obvious that Rafa has got full control of all transfers at this club.

          • stevetoontoon

So true 10/10. Never heard rafa once moan about our championship squad !!!he gave charnley list of A,B and C options we got D maybe E players. Ashley was on holiday first 2 weeks of window thats how interested he was

          • Peaky Magpie

            Nice one Jezza.

          • thewildchimp

Not gonna lie, I wouldn’t pay 20+m for Jorgensen. Would you pay 20m for a potentially good Championship striker? Striker problem should’ve been dealt with in the summer, end of. In January loans only.

          • Jezza

Yes, I would definitely have paid £20 million for a striker who could potentially score the goals to keep us in the Premiership. Who’s fault was it that the striker problem wasn’t dealt with in the summer? As for January being for loan deals only, tell that to Brighton, Huddersfield and Southampton at the end of the season when they avoid relegation with the help of their club record sginings made in January.

          • thewildchimp

What I meant to say is: in January you should try to bring players above your weight on loan, if you are in dire straits. Like Sturridge, Slimani, etc. Jorgensen looks decent, but I wouldn’t pay more than 15m, since there are already plenty of good CFs to find in England for that sum. Of course, it’s January, so the prices are higher – but no problem. Bring someone better on loan and hire Jorgensen next summer for a fair price. 20+ million is not a potentially good striker, but a guaranteed-to-reach-double-figures striker.
If I understood properly, Jorgensen was Rafa’s summer choice as a hot prospect, not a life-saviour. We need a life-saviour at the moment, pronto!

          • Albert Stubbins

I don’t think the Jorgensen deal was ever on. He looked ordinary to me and unproven. I can’t for the life of me believe rafa was genuinely interested in him. It was a smokescreen by club to make it look like we were going for players in this price range which as you know more than most we most certainly were not. Spot on with the rest though.

          • Jezza

You could well be right about Jorgensen being nothing but a publicity stunt. Nevertheless we can’t get aaway from the fact that Rafa was desperate to bring in a decent striker in January and Fatso refused to back him.

          • thewildchimp

            Or Slimani, or Sturridge.

      • Mitros gotta start

Waste of time if the manager wont play him….he would play darlow up front before mitro

    • anyobrien

      Mitro in rafa oot

      • East Durham Mag

He could be player/manager, doesn’t he walk on water too?

        • anyobrien

Yes water to wine….. Handy that

      • Geordiegiants

        They are mental aren’t they!

    • Dillon Tovak

Spiteful? 🙄 pretty immature way of looking at it.
He obviously just didn’t rate or trust him.
      Get over it.

      • Mrkgw

Stubborn, certainly. Rafa’s way is seemingly the only way and if your face doesn’t fit, its curtains. Or, at least thats how it appears from the outside.

      • Anita kick up the Hoop

Immature is right … only it’s the manager who needs to grow up.

        • Dillon Tovak

Rafas a big old meanie, bullying poor little Alexander 😤
Apparently he used to make him sit on his own on the team bus and would steal his lunch money.

          • Anita kick up the Hoop

Is that true? … wow! I thought he just played donkeys like Joselu and Perez while not giving an international striker who is still only 23 and will lead the line for his country at this years World Cup a sniff … but if you say he stole his lunch money as well then that is truly nasty !

          • Dillon Tovak

Yeah he’d call him Tubbo and steal his money and say fatty boom boom doesn’t need more food.

          • Anita kick up the Hoop

Was there a full length mirror about when he was saying this?

          • Chris

Yeh, saw him dominate those world class teams like China. totally bossed it lol.
That defending on the goal is poor. Seems like you forgot all the sitters that Mitro missed while here. Plus the red cards. hmmm.

          • Anita kick up the Hoop

            Are you on meth?

          • Jezza

            Excellent comment.

          • thewildchimp

Meanwhile Joselu dominated… Well, I can’t think of anything witty, since the idea alone is already too much…

          • Mike Adam

Every striker misses chances, every keeper makes mistakes, every manager makes mistakes. Mitro has scored in the Champions League against Arsenal at 20, he has scored against ManCity, Spurs, ManU, and others, so what is your point. The red card thing is false, he made some dumb challenges during his first year with the club as a 20/21 year old, so what. Last year no reds, how did he accomplish that? This year, only the pundits red after the fact, and knowone except him knows if that was intentional or not. Why don’t the pundits/FA go back and look at a few tackles by Kane??? Yesterday, I saw Charlie Adam studs up into Morgan’s hip and not even a yellow. Stop with the red card shyte! We all have our opinions on Mitro, the facts are that he has a better goal scoring record in the PL than any of the other strikers Rafa has played this season, yet he was given no chance. That is, was and always will be my point. Oh and I do not want Rafa out and I am not a Mackem.

      • Andy Mac

Consider that response in terms of todays performances. Top of the table Wolves looked threatened by Mitro just as 7 games winning Villa did before. Play the man/best potential and he’ll give you way more than Joselu ?

    • Johnnie the John

Mitrovic is [email protected] nk pal.

      • Jezza

        Well said.

      • Mike Adam

Why the name calling because someone has a different opinion than you?

        • Johnnie the John

          I called him ‘pal’?

Mitrovic is shocking. Emperor’s New Clothes; people say he’s our best striker so we have to ignore what we see with our eyes – that he’s junk and spends most of his time banned…

          • Mike Adam

Johnnie, you called him “[email protected] nk pal”. You are entitled to your opinion certainly. His stats in the Prem say he is the best striker we have. “spends most of his time banned…” is a totally absurd and untrue statement.

          • Johnnie the John

Are you concerned that I used a naughty word about Mitrovic? I’m not sure who you think that I called a name?

Poor player, poor discipline. Actually, Dwight Gayle’s stats say that he’s the best striker we have.

Mitrovic missed the first 4 games of last season and then had another 3 game ban this season. Might be able to get away with that kind of record if you’re Luis Suarez. But Mitrovic ain’t no Suarez…

          • Mike Adam

As a Championship striker yes, as a Premiership striker, no you are wrong. Plus look at their discipline records over the same time Mitro was with NUFC, pretty close overall.

  • Andy Mac

“The imposing Aleksandar Mitrovic proved the difference between the
buoyant hosts, who haven’t given up hope of claiming the second
automatic promotion spot behind Wolves and Nuno Espirito Santo’s
strangely subdued side. The Serbian striker personified Fulham’s fierce
intensity when he turned Conor Coady inside out before firing a low shot
between John Ruddy and his near post to double the hosts’ lead with
twenty minutes to play. Mitrovic, eager to prove a point to Rafa Benitez
and his national coach with a World Cup on the horizon, played a
pivotal part in Fulham’s first as well. After Alfred N’Diaye carelessly
squandered possession on the edge of his own box, the on-loan Newcastle
forward fired a venomous shot that Ruddy did superbly to parry, before
    Sessegnon snaffled up the rebound”

I’m not starting or propagating a Rafa v Mitro war all I want is what’s best for NUFC. Having seen two new “upcoming stars” arrive at the club in Cabella and Thauvin only to see them shipped out pronto why cant NUFC see that Mitro is worth holding on to ? Mainly because he has talent but also because he loves this club as much as we do !!!!!

    • Mitros gotta start

Cant wait until rafa moves on…..hopefully long before mitro gets peddled

      • Chris

If we had it your way, we’d be watching Mitro light it up in the same division that he is in now. Guess you still have to bang on about this.

        • Mitros gotta start

No….he would be scoring in the premier league putting us comfortably in the top half of the table with us having a go at teams instead of trying to defend 1 goal leads for 70 minutes a game

          • Geordiegiants

So how come he never kept us up the season we were relegated and he was our number one striker, with far far superior players around him.

          • Mike Adam

If memory serves me right, and I might be wrong, Rafa benched him for Cisse.

          • Geordiegiants

Exactly! Cause he was pish poor, if he had been banging them n all season we wouldn’t of been in that position.

          • Mike Adam

So now it is a 20/21 year old’s fault that a whole team got relagated, unbelievable! Well it must be true, because you say so.

          • Geordiegiants

I’m saying he was our first choice goal scorer and wasn’t performing, and yes it was his fault we got relegated have a look at his miss against Everton, have a look at his miss against Villa. Tell me if we had of had a decent goal scorer for those 2 chances we, would of went down. His age means f all. Rooney, Owen etc etc never ever used their age as an excuse, they signed a mans contract to do a mans job.

          • thewildchimp

Well, there is a reason he cost us £12m. You get what you pay for, it’s not the lad’s fault. For a 21 year old kid to get 9 goals first season in top league – more than enough.

          • Geordiegiants

Back then that was VERY decent money for him. Even by the cancers standards.

          • thewildchimp

I agree. But you aren’t gonna get Aguero or Salah for that ammount. You’re gonna get Mitro or Jorgensen.

          • Geordiegiants

No but he wasn’t even Andreas Anderson Standard.

          • Mike Adam

Are you just that scared that Mitro is going to prove Rafa wrong? If not then why worry or comment about what he does at Fulham, he is not coming back under Rafa.

          • thewildchimp

Pace isn’t everything. If you can read the play and position yourself perfectly, you don’t need it at all. You need pace only to beat people or run at balls. Mitro needs pace at United, because Rafa doesn’t want to spare more than 3-4 people for attacking, at Fulham he doesn’t need it, because the midfielders do the sprinting for him. He and Shelvey are a perfect match for long ball plays, however, you can be summoned by the Inquisition in Spain if you play that way, so I can understand Benitez to a degree.

Anyway, he is a collateral of the managerial change (as several others are) and that’s that. He’s the #1 choice in Serbia despite the age, and they are rather highly ranked (somewhere under the 15th spot, I believe) on the FIFA list.

          • Mike Adam

“Back then”, you make it sound like it was 20 or more years ago. You always have some reason. Why do you even care about Mitro? He is gone, be happy!

          • Geordiegiants

In terms of expenditure it was a light years away. You can’t try and tell me that wasn’t decent money then compared to now?

          • Mike Adam

            Spot on mate!

          • thewildchimp

Marra, ‘Mitro’s on Fire’ chant emerged precisely at that time, because he was banging 2 per game, as a sub! Or setting them up for Townsend. Yet, he made way for Cisse, who had trouble trapping the ball at the time. I’m not kidding!

          • Mike Adam

Come on Chimp, that cannot be true, Geordie says he was “pish poor”.

          • Mike Adam

GG acts like he knows everything and never admits when he is wrong. Although, I saw a glimmer of hope when he actually said something nice about Mitro after the Wolves game and admitted Rafa got the subs wrong as well.

          • thewildchimp

Gotta give him credit, he’s the only one of the ‘Mitro out’ brigade to do so. :)

      • stevetoontoon

        Defo mackem

        • Leazes.

Of course he is, why has it taken so long for it to sink in?

          • stevetoontoon

Haha!! Just starting on here…. ghostrider mackem also?….. thought so

          • Leazes.

Well I’ve blocked about twenty of them and ghostrider is another one that doesn’t come up on my screen, along with Clarko, Fleckman…. you get them on all boards I think they come with the service provider or the site itself in order to instigate more hits…. just a theory, but it makes sense when you think about it… just don’t let them get through to you.

          • stevetoontoon

Aye seems to be a canny few of them…. will look into this blocking thing!!! Cheers bud

          • Leazes.

Little arrow button on the top right of the trolls post will block out all of their posts.

          • stevetoontoon

            Aye found it m8 cheers

          • Jezza

There’s actually not that many. Most of the trolling on this forum is down to two brothers who post under multiple ID’s. Ghostbuster, Clarko, Bobbi Fleckman, Monkseaton Magpies, Ben Jones, Martin Rooney, Mike Adam and Mark Potter are all ID’s used by those two brothers. Those two brothers are not Newcastle fans. They live in Manchester and are season ticket holders at Old Trafford and at least one of them works in a S****s D****t shop.

          • stevetoontoon

            Cheers saddos

          • Geordiegiants

Ha ha ha lol. I like your thought process Jezza

          • Mike Adam

But he is wrong, he doesn’t know as much as he thinks. At least when it comes to me. I think it says more about him when he makes false accusations about me.

          • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

He/she knows nothing, (s)he went to a few games in the 80’s or so says. Everything else that is posted is nearly always wrong, sometimes it’s a mistake but often it’s a deliberate lie which is a problem.

          • Mike Adam

Yeah, what is up with that pic?

          • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

To be honest, fair play if he’s trans, it takes guts.

          • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

But he’s lying GG, think about it, has he ever been proven right? If he were right, we’d not have signed a single player in the last four windows, we’d not have been promoted, Rafa would have left many times over and we’d be bottom of the league by a mile.

Oh, Mike Ashley has taken loads of money out, the accounts are make believe and can’t be trusted.

          • Geordiegiants

I was only talking about the last couple of sentences really.

          • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

The same applies to those sentences as all the other nonsense he spouts. It’s a problem I have with Leazes’ / Jezza, opinions are great but blatant lies are dangerous.

          • Geordiegiants

Jezza only puts his opinion out there and he is normally correct when it comes to second guessing the regime. Leazes is just Leazes he has his opinion in a cut throat way.

          • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

OPinion is fine but watch both of them, they pass blatant lies off as fact.

          • Geordiegiants

So is propaganda Bobbi, you either choose to believe everything is fine with our club, although the whole country can see it’s a mess and being sucked of every penny and it’s dignity, or your simply taking the pish, or your on here as a stooge or Jabba apologist.

          • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

I don’t believe all is well but I don’t see the point in making up a load of lies to get angry over

          • Geordiegiants

He is disgusting, he is taking the pish, how can anyone defend him in any shape? He is purposefully gambling every season, and has the club on the edge every season. Even Pinocchio and Tufty have said so in such a way as they can.
Rafa isn’t happy, Charnley is gagged, all former players call him. The goverment hate him, the general public hate him. He is toxic and so is every single person involved with him.

          • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

Anyone the government dislikes is usually ok in my book.

Some former players are pretty fair on him.

He’s not throwing more money at the problem, that’s the issue. It cost him £15m to get us back up and now the club needs to generate it’s own funds, he’s been pretty clear on that. He’d argue that had Rafa not bought Sels on mega money , Gamez, Lazaar etc he’d have funds for other players. Had Rafa dealt with Colback, Mitro etc a little better he could have sold them and had more funds.

          • Leazes.

They might all be Graham Porter…. just a thought.

          • Geordiegiants

I’ve tried to get on the mackem site I can’t remeber it’s name, they wouldnt even let me join.

          • Leazes.

            Their loss is our gain.

          • Geordiegiants

            Ha ha ha lol.

          • Mike Adam

They are going down to League One anyway, so they will be irrelevant.

          • Geordiegiants

I don’t believe Fleckman is a stooge. He does have some controversial views, but he isn’t a stooge or Mackem. That’s what this site is about opinion.

          • Mike Adam

Yes Geordie, you get it. We don’t agree on much yet have some good debates.

          • Geordiegiants

Martin Rooney said to me one time. What’s a heed? That was in relation to me saying Mitro had a heed like a fifty pence peice.

          • Albert Stubbins

Aye I remember thinking that was strange at the time. Lol Lol

          • Mike Adam

Again, why am I a troll because I have different opinions that some of you. None of you have any idea where I live or who I am. Jezza thinks he knows everything, but I don’t even have a brother. I have never changed my ID name. The picture of Shearer has remained the same, I just dare to question Rafa and I like players like Mitro and Darlow, I used to get hammered because I wanted to see Mitro and Cisse play together up top, so what. Why does that make me any different than any of you? Why does that make me a troll or a Mackem? I am entitled to my opinions just as all of you are and have had some great conversations with a few of you even though we see things differently. But isn’t that what these forums are about???

          • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

            He’s lying

          • Peaky Magpie

You know what I’ve also thought they may be ringers for this site, some of the shyte they come out with doesn’t make sense and is often random and they’re like an annoying bluebottle that won’t go away once they latch on to you….my theory also.

          • Geordiegiants

Ghostmackem, Mackemseaton and the likes are very very obvious Mackems or possibly stooges. It seems we are getting more and more at the minute though.

          • Leazes.

They don’t believe what they write so why should I, the block button neutralises the time wasted getting annoyed with them.

          • Albert Stubbins

Clarko is the Adrian Durham of The Mag!!

          • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

Leazes’ lives in a fantasy world, most of his posts are lies, the dangerous ones are where he takes a fact and spins it, it sounds plausible but still a lie.

        • Mike Adam

Why are people who like Mitro Mackems? Is it because we question the managers decisions. He is still a NUFC player you know.

          • stevetoontoon

Cant wait till rafa moves on…… howay!!!….mackem comment. I like mitro myself but something has happened between him and rafa…. gayle would have probably broke records in championship if he didnt get injured for 2 or 3 month after xmas…. different league m8 rafa dont fancy him

          • Mike Adam

They are still entitled to their opinions. I often disagree with what Rafa does, but I have never wanted him gone.

          • stevetoontoon

Howld on !!!….. we both agree we like mitrovich, we both agree we dont want rafa to go…….. why dont you have a go at the mackem your trying to defend

          • Mike Adam

Because I agree with Mitros gotta start when it comes to Mitro. He does go way overboard when it comes to Rafa and saying he has to go. But if that is his opinion, so be it. I like Rafa, but I really do not think he has a clue in the offensive half. I also do not get ever bringing on Hayden and especially Manquillo yesterday. Mbemba would have been a nice sub in my opinion, but where is he?

          • Mike Adam

Steve, since I see you are new to the forums please form your own opinion about individuals and don’t just take the word of those who act like they know everything. These forums are about expressing opinions about the club we all supposedly love.

          • stevetoontoon

So you can agree with mitro but i cant agree with the bloke that called him a loon haha hoow!!!! Gfy

          • Mike Adam

You certainly can, I never questioned that. You called him a Mackem, and I asked, are all people who like Mitro Mackems? Or are you calling him a Mackem beacuse he wants Rafa out?

          • stevetoontoon

Obviously you only read what you wanna read but here it is again i quote Cant wait till rafa moves on…… howay!!!….mackem comment. I like mitro myself but something has happened between him and rafa end of

          • Mike Adam

You are just like the others. All I asked was why does having a certain opinion make someone a Mackem??? “Obviously you only read what you wanna read” really HOW??? Then there is the famous “end of”. Sounds good to me since answering a simple question is too much for you.

          • Mike Adam

Love how you have to use “Gfy” such class! You and your friends are experts at name calling, I am certainly glad all Geordies are not like you.

          • stevetoontoon

Bet you get it alot tho.

          • Mike Adam

You still didn’t answer the simple question though. That is all I ever asked, so I don’t get the source of you anger.

          • stevetoontoon

Haha i have answered your question twice not answering it again i understand you like a good debate but if your not listening absolutely no point…..mackem

          • Mike Adam

What exactly am I not hearing? That you agree with people who call others loon and that you call people Mackems. All I asked is why the names? Have debate, give opinions, but too often we are called names for having opposing opinions.

          • stevetoontoon

Ive forgotten now sorry go wasp someone else

          • Mike Adam

            Exactly!

      • East Durham Mag

        Loon

      • Mike Adam

See, right away the name callers come out when you say anything negative about Rafa.

  • Philippines

Apart from the fan’s bemusement over Mitro, I was watching Match of the Day and wondering why we did not keep James Milner, now playing for Liverpool.

    • Leazes.

Because Ashley wanted the £9 Million, and Keegan wanted to keep him if I remember, there was something about a replacement, was it Schweinsteiger?

….then a court case for constructive dismissal followed by ten years of lies.

      • Albert Stubbins

I think the milner sale was the straw that broke the camels back for king keV. I remember he looked furious when discussing it on sky at the time.

    • Jezza

We didn’t keep James Milner for exactly the same reason we didn’t keep Andy Carroll, Yoan Cabaye, Demba Ba, Andros Townsend, Jose Enrique, Kevin Nolan, Matthieu Debuchy, Gini Wijnaldum, Moussa Sissoko, Damian Duff, Charles N’Zogbia, Shay Given, Obafemi Martins and ever other top player that Ashley has cashed in on at the first given opportunity.

      • John

Because anyone in their right mind wouldn’t hold onto Ashley Carroll when someone comes in for £35m. Given spent nearly his whole career here and moved on. Sissoko was branded useless and bounced out of the club. N’zogbia was also slated week in week out and didn’t want to play for us. Wijnaldum was sold for over £30m allowing to buy a good squad for the championship.

        • Jezza

          Troll. Consider yourself blocked.

          • Geordiegiants

Ha ha lol. It’s full of them at the minute. Either the mag writers are trying to get the clicks up and failing miserably, because the likes of you and I are blocking them. Or the Mackems can’t come on with any other way of winding people up.

          • Leazes.

You’ve discovered the button…. well done, I wish everyone would just block the trolls…. he’s on my list too.

          • Jezza

I discovered the block button a long time ago. It makes using this forum a much more pleasant experience.

          • Mike Adam

Why do some label those who have different opinions trolls? Many of you have strong opinions as well and just because someone wants to respond to something you have written doesn’t make them a troll.

          • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

Exactly, I have good discussions with people who I disagree with but value their opinion. Jezza and his nom de plumes take delight in calling people trolls and announcing how they’ve blocked anyone who dares to disagree.

In Jezza / Leazes’ case, he is just wrong nearly all the time. Often, worse, he blatantly posts untruths that he knows to be a lie.

          • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

It’s the only way you can find people agree with you.

        • Johnnie the John

Under this administration, we’ll always sell any player with any value then replace them with a worse one. It’s the modus operandi. In fairness the last year or so we haven’t done it so much, but I think that is more to do with the lack of value in the squad – captain will go in the summer though, probably.

          • Geordiegiants

Don’t think there is any probably about it, he will definetly be sold if the Cancer hasn’t been cured at our club.

    • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

Milner hated it at Newcastle, he wanted away

  • Leazes.

Methinks the author Graham Porter is trying to persuade people that we have a poor manager and a great squad….. Is this troll your alter ego Graham, it seems to have been set up for him?

  • kingfisher

Lets face it, if Mitro is that good, why did no other Prem club want him on loan? Simple answer is he’s not good enough for the prem.If he continues to do well at Fulham maybe he will get a permanent deal at seasons end.

    • Geordiegiants

To be fair he was wanted by
Brighton. I do agree with you though that the championship is his level, he is a passionate player with a will to win, he just hasn’t got the skill needed in the premier league.

      • Albert Stubbins

With a reported seven million bid? After his displays at Newcastle nobody in the premiership was seriously interested in him but your right about his level. Good championship player. Hasn’t pace or touch to be consistent at top level. In 90 ,s maybe when everyone played 4 4 2 but no chance in modern game, not for me.

      • Mike Adam

I have to give you a lot of credit Geordie! You have been fair when it comes to Mitro, and were fair when others questioned Rafa yesterday.

    • Mike Adam

Easy, Rafa devalued him by not playing him in front of the strikers we had. Also, Rafa came out and said he would n ot be sold or loaned to a Prem club. Why are you guys who don’t think he is Prem caliber striker worried about him anyway? He is gone and will not be coming back if Rafa remains the manager.

    • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

Given that every side outside the top 8 is a relegation rival, I don’t think Mitro was going on loan in the premier league.

  • FairsCup69

For me, Mitro should have had more opportunities – whatever the problems between him and Rafa because at times we’ve had nothing else to place any kind of reliance on. But hes one paced and never in the 6 yard box. Can’t head the ball either. That said, good for him that he’s scoring for Fulham in the 2nd division. Maybe that’s his level. I think his sending off against Spurs in the 5-1 did for him. He missed the start of our 2nd division campaign and never recovered.

    • Mike Adam

You must have missed his first HUFC goal against Man City as a 20 year old mate.

  • Albert Stubbins

Was a great goal to be fair. I don’t rate him as a premier league striker but he deserved a run of games instead of the hapless joselyn that’s for certain.

  • Mxpx

For those that seem to think he’s found his level he scored 10 Premier league goals for us in for the most part a failing team he scored this one against wolves too who we will have to give our championship trophy to before long they may not be a Premier league team yet but they will be ! They concede less than one a game so their defence generally does its job quite well too
