Newcastle v Burnley player ratings from fans – Well worth a look

The results of the Newcastle v Burnley player ratings by fans.

Always interested to see what supporters have collectively made of the latest performance, when using our interactive ratings system.

Each player marked out of 10 and the averages below.

Apologies for bringing these fan ratings so late but with so much going on, they got a ‘little’ bit forgotten about.

Still interesting though to look at the feedback from the thousands of Newcastle supporters who voted.

Two players way out in front after giving starring performances.

Kenedy (8.0) was star man and gave an excellent debut, running at the opposition, creating the penalty and only denied a debut goal by the woodwork.

Not far behind him was another ‘new’ player, step forward Mohamed Diame (7.7). Recently it is as though he had just found third and fourth gear at NUFC, Wednesday night it was fifth gear, as he was all over the pitch showing a completely different player to what anybody had previously seen in black and white. If he had played like that in the Championship then Newcastle would have had a very smooth ride.

On the negative side, Joselu (2.8) had a nightmare with the failure to convert the penalty and sitter that came his way. Failed miserably on the scoring front and sadly, for him, when you are a striker that is everything really, never mind the hard work he puts in.

Christian Atsu (3.7) was next lowest, it is incredibly frustrating just how up and down he can be. Never going to be brilliant maybe but when you know he can give so much more…

Only three other players registered 6.0 or better, Jamaal Lascelles (6.9) keeping the defence reasonably organised, whilst Paul Dummett (6.1) stuck at it, and Mikel Merino (6.0) was tidy in midfield.

As for the rest, Ciaran Clark (5.6) was best of an average bunch, with Karl Darlow (5.4) maybe a little harshly marked as he was unlucky with the equaliser.

Ayoze Perez (5.2) did show occasional moments of promise but as usual, very little end product, whilst DeAndre Yedlin (5.0) didn’t have the greatest of nights.

Below are the ratings as voted by Newcastle fans up to 11.30am Sunday:
