Each player marked out of 10 and the averages below.

Sunday’s top star man for Newcastle fans….step forward, making his debut, Martin Dubravka.

Making his first start, supporters rated the Slovakian goalkeeper a very very high 9.4 on average, a well earned man of the match accolade.

Not far behind, Jonjo Shelvey (9.3) put in by some distance his best display of the season and was top outfield player.

Five other Newcastle stars recorded marks of 8.1 or higher, as a real team effort defeated Man Utd.

Third highest was Shelvey’s central midfield partner Mohamed Diame (8.7), continuing his new-found excellent form.

Jamaal Lascelles (8.6) was next highest, closely followed by partner Florian Lejeune (8.4), another player having his best ever game for Newcastle. Helping to set up the goal and putting in numerous blocks/challenges, including THAT one from Sanchez.

Paul Dummett (8.3) was absolutely solid once again, whilst Matt Ritchie (8.1) found form and his first goal of the season.

The remaining four players all scored 7.0 or higher, as nobody had a bad game.

Least best were the front two, though it was always going to be a hard shift up front.

Ayoze Perez (7.0) was rated lowest by fans, as his lack of pace isn’t ideally suited with the team trying to counter-attack.

Dwight Gayle (7.2) might feel a little aggrieved not to be rated higher, a very clever assist for the winner, won that penalty that wasn’t given, cleared a couple off the line at the other end…

Also rated at the lower end were Kenedy (7.5) who wasn’t able to have quite as much influence as in his first two matches but still did well, whilst DeAndre Yedlin (7.6) put in a decent shift at both ends.

Below are the ratings as voted by Newcastle fans up to 7pm Monday:

I can`t really see why anyone would deduct anything from M-Dubs` score. I`m really glad he`s Over Here now and I hope he can Bump`n`Grind his way through the next 11 games – preferably without Killin anyBody (sorry about that one!).

  • Mitros gotta start

Thank christ we didnt manage to take over harts loan…..would have also meant we couldnt have brought in slimani either as we are only allowed to have 2 loans from premier league teams….bullet firmly dodged

    • Mitros gotta start

Looks like we dodged another one with sturridge…..lasted 2 minutes against chelsea….crocked again….turning out to be a great few days

      • Wor Lass

        Not for him!

        • Mitros gotta start

The look on Pardspews face must have been a picture when sturridge got crocked again….would have replaced that smug look he had when he thought he was putting one over on us by getting him in the 1st place…..magic!

          • Duh

Typical jammy mike, misses out on paying millions for 95 mins of Sturridge playing

    • Arty Hume

Three bullets really as of now, Hart, Sturridge and of course everyone’s favourite Tosun who has not started for Everton yet. We cannot crow too loudly yet as Slimani has yet to make the team sheet but as it turns out, we didnt do too badly with the loans. Strange how things turn out……:)

  • SH.ER

    Really accurate ratings

    • Wor Lass

Good grief SH.ER have you come out of hibernation or deep space stasis or something? Welcome back, man!

  • Peaky Magpie

Not looking good for WBA…The Baggies are well and truly Pardewed….

  • TheFatController

10 our of 10 to Pardew for taking advice from his assistant on how to take over a team half way through a season ….

    • Peaky Magpie

5 points adrift now….looking like only 2 places to fill….the general feeling amongst the few Stoke fans who live near me is that they are on the way down as well…

      • TheFatController

If we can continue picking up points in most games, we may be able to rein in Watford and even Burnley if they continue to freefall.

As Roy Hodgson said, you don’t lose two points, a draw is a point gained in the bottom half.

That’s because you can guarantee someone around you of the ten (twelve?) will have lost…

        • Peaky Magpie

It’s certainly a hell of a lot more interesting than the top half.

    • Rich Lawson

Haven’t had the team building exercise at Greggs with Geordie John yet tho’.

  • Rich Lawson

See Sturidge lasted all of 3 mins before injury against Chelsea and the big Turkish lad we were supposed to be in for can’t even get on the bench at Everton.Lets hope Slimani turns out to be the ace in the pack when he plays.Onwards and upwards.
