I don’t know if the 50,000 Newcastle fans going to the game on Sunday will read this…but it would be great to get a message to them.

Support. The. Team.

We know they are going to lose the ball, pass back to the keeper, pass it to no one, miss at close range, choose the wrong shot, give them space on the ball…but we also know they’re going to run around a lot, track back, support each other, work together and occasionally slide a great pass, get on the end of a well-taken corner, put in a block off the line and, god-willing, even put the ball in the net.

We are not going to get confused any time soon with Real Madrid (they’re rubbish anyway at the minute) and yes, some players are definitely struggling at the Premier League level, but we’re okay.

Plenty of teams around Newcastle are worse, or have bigger problems, than we do.

I would love to see Slimani play a blinder in his first game for us, Kenedy and Diame continue with their good form, and see Merino and Ritchie back to their best. Bottom line is that whoever’s out there, is us.

If it’s Joselu up front on his own, suck it up! He’s got a job to do and I’ll hazard a guess that it won’t make him play any better if you sit their moaning, to whoever will listen, how terrible he is. Ditto if he misses.

Get behind him, make a chant, cheer when he’s on the ball (and I don’t mean ironically). He’ll do his job better, if you do your best job of being a Newcastle fan.

So between now and Sunday, pour your heart into loving the team. A win would be massive, every win now is massive, and we need to do everything we can to turn St. James Park into a fortress again.

Get on YouTube and watch Howay 5-0, or the 4-3 when Roy Keane tried/wanted to kill Shearer. Watch the great goals that Ritchie, Shelvey, Gayle, Atsu and Hayden scored last season. Remember that feeling of finally watching the toon and thinking at last: ‘Now THIS is more like it!’ after the gubbins McClaren was serving up with his overpaid shysters.

These are proper Newcastle players that want to be here.

If I was a Huddersfield fan I’d have watched my team lose five in a row.

If I was a Swansea fan I’d be looking at two of their best players (Bony and Fer) now crocked until the end of the season.

We are really not far from safety so we’ve got a lot to be positive about. If we win on Sunday we’ll have a lot more.

Like Bing Crosby once sang (almost), you’ve got to accentuate the positives, eliminate the negatives and don’t have a go if Yedlin gets out of position.

One more bit of motivation for you. Just imagine for one moment the sweet, sweet sound of a new chant. To the tune of Yellow Submarine. To be sung by fifty thousand:

“SUN’LUN’S GOING DOWN AND THE MAGS ARE STAYING UP!

MAGS ARE STAYING UP! MAGS ARE STAYING UP!!!

GOING DOOOOOWN STAYING UP!

GOING DO-OW-OWN STAYING UP!”

Spot on, kidder. Nobody’s here’s convinced of the merits of Joselu, for example. But are we going to sit and gripe or get behind the lads and – mebbe- make a difference. Desperately disappointing position to be in, because of Ashley, but I honestly think we’ve got to try and lift every player, until the end of the season. I’m sorry to be so harsh, but anything less seems to me self-indulgence.

    • Leazes.

It never worked with Ameobi in ten years because it is the rambling musings of a deluded mind.

  • Leazes.

You are fleckman aren’t you…. the right wing ideology, run up the flag and salute it you b*stards!

I expect to see a mass walkout when the fourth goal goes in…. the London press Sky and MOTD didn’t show the gallowgate banner deliberately….. they will show the walk out…. they can’t hide it.

You maximise the damage to United by keeping this nonsense going, you personally David, and your idiot brother Kevin and fools like you!

The Chronicle today has come out with all guns blazing against Ashley….

    Forward with the momentum!

    • Damon Horner

They’ll show the walk out but they will spin it against the fans.

      • Leazes.

Spin is a strange thing, even though the Chronicle are calling for Ashley to leave on a regular basis now they still big up Rafa, the latest offering is….

How Rafa persuaded Slimani to sign despite three other offers… failing to say that Slimani was about third our fourth choice on the clubs list… so there was a, lot of failure there too, notably the snub by Sturridge…. so what is the message they are putting out?

    • Coble’s Return

The lack of coverage of the Gallowgate banner is to be expected from the disinterested London media, partisan Sky and the beige MOTD. You are spot on here – this game goes as expected, let’s all get gone. What is there to lose? Anyone with more than a passing interest in football knows that we have stuck by the club through thin and bl00dy vaporous – anyone who suggests that this is anything other than the fans trying to protect the club from further damage is deluded.

(I hope this version gets past the moderators).

      • Leazes.

Its an American chatroom…. you can’t’ write loads of stuff (colloquial form of Richard is one) or put in pictures…. truly horrible.

        • Jezza

Yes it won’t even allow the surname of the Newcastle manager from 1980 to 1984. Unbelievable.

          • Peaky Magpie

I know exactly what you mean, capitals with spaces is the only way and it makes your post look daft.

          • Geordiegiants

Half of these don’t need anything like that to look daft peaky!

          • Peaky Magpie

            😂🤣😂 Aye you’re reet there.

          • Geordiegiants

It’s a snowflake platform, should suite you Jezza! 😃

          • Leazes.

            Arthur?

          • whitleylad

I remember him saying that even if the team were doing really badly at least he’d never hear the fans chanting “C*x out!”

          • Jezza

I remember in December 1990 on my way to a Sunday morning away game at Plymouth I took in a match at Fulham on the Saturday afternoon. Fulham lost at home to Bolton that day and their manager at the time was Alan D!cks. After Bolton took the lead, the whole ground was chanting “D!cks out” over and over again. True story.

    • Peaky Magpie

      Nice one

    • Cockneytrev

I can’t understand why the chronicle hasn’t attacked Ashley more? IT makes no sense,,
PS it’s about time the mag started blocking these trolls

  • ghostrider

Not a lot anyone can do if Rafa parks the bus, because Man Utd will just park the ball in the net time and time and time again.

If Rafa sets about Man Utd from the first to the last minute and have a real go, I absolutely genuinely feel we can actually beat them…especially with the fans producing the gee up they would thrive on.

Time for Rafa to man up and earn his corn by allowing his team to go for it and show just what’s required as respect and no more.

    • Paul C

look at our goal difference, much better than the two bottom clubs. goal difference can be worth a massive point at the end of the season, and could keep us up. Rafa is right for parking the bus.we arent barcelona. we just want premier league survival, not champions league, we arent even after the sense of pride you feel when we beat a team like man utd or chelsea once or twice in a decade. not allowing a handful of goals to a top club is priority, just as beating the teams lower in the table is so we can survive the year and hopefully the fat man sells. this is all that matters right now. so get behind the players, get behind the manager

      • Mitros gotta start

Yes but if you have a go and sneak a lucky win thats 3 points….P155ES all over the 1 point goal difference might get you at the end of the season….still the weak clubs have no chance against the strong ones so we might aswell not even try.

        • Paul C

but if you have a go and let in six goals we could end the year level on points and go down on goal difference. we are not going to survive by getting a lucky win against man utd. with 12 games to play its the games against the teams at the low end of the table we need to go for it and get 3 points. how are we going to sneak a lucky win against man utd? Rafa is just being realistic and using good tactics if he parks the bus. nil nil would be a great result. we are a championship level team with a great manager. its all about premiership survival and hopefully the fat man leaves. going for it against man utd solves nothing. howay the lads! cmon big Hoss!

          • Tomb

            Huddersfield managed

          • Tomb

Its sad if we are now celebrating single goal defeats at home. Fair enough at old trafford but we took the game to them under Mclaren and get two draws off them two years ago so its not impossible

          • Mitros gotta start

B0LL0X…..why didnt we go for it against swansea or watford or everton or burnley…..rafas negative tactics have cost us way more than the 1 point we might gain from a better goal difference this season.

      • thewildchimp

Personally, I’d go for a draw. But not in the Rocky Balboa style, you let them beat you for 10 rounds and then go for a double knockout, but a balanced approach, perhaps fishing for some free-kicks, as well. ManU defence will let one creep in, if we set our mind to it. If we only sit back and wait for the final whistle, their offence will slam 4 or 5 home, at least.

        • mentalman

our strongest chance of scoring is set pieces so we need to try and get as many as we can.

The team need to learn that if the ball is in the midfield area they are highly unlikely to score, if they let man utd play on the edge of our box we’ll get slaughtered

      • Tomb

You know scoring goals helps the goal difference as well ss the points total

      • ghostrider

I am always behind them but It doesn’t mean I like what’s going on and also we do not need to park the bus, at all.
What we need to do is to use certain caution but also to try for 90 minutes to gain the spoils or die trying, sort of thing.

    • Cockneytrev

You should stick to licking Ashley’s hoop , as you no nothing about football,, you troll

    • Albert Stubbins

Rafas not playing!! Its he players who need to set about Manyoo- Ive not seen anything to believe we are capeable of setting about anyone this season- hence the negative tactics. I expect the same on sunday. Hopefully rafa will set the team up so that we can mix it up a bit- 4-4-2 is our only chance of a win imo.

  • Paul Busby

Get lost mate. Joselu needs to stay at home on Match day, at best he can sit on the bench for emergencies.

He’s not good enough and nothing the fans do will change that.

    • Toonarden

You may be right but don’t tell me that Gayle is any better. Joselu at least wins a fair share of balls in the air. Gayle looks like a schoolkid playing in the schoolyard against ‘the big lads’.

      • Peaky Magpie

Aye that sounds like Gayle, star player in the U13’s been chucked in with the U18’s,out of his depth.

      • Dillon Tovak

Definitely, Jos is dross but Gayles a pale comparison.
Hopefully neither will play much more though.

  • thewildchimp

I agree. And if you don’t find it in you to cheer them on, that’s alright but – don’t boo them. It’s counterproductive. Who knows, maybe Joselu missed that penalty because of that? (Yeah, I’m stretching it.) But maybe it got to him. “Oh, sh’t, they think I’m gonna miss! What if I do?!” And later, when he put it wide of the left post: “F’ck, I already missed the penalty – I absolutely can’t miss now! Our survival and the team depend on it and the fans will be p’ssed if I do… Oh, cr’p, I’ve done it again…”

It’s a far shot, but a plausibility. So do your best to eliminate that chance. If nothing: so you can roast them later on how they are “sh’te, even with all that cheering”… :p

    • FatParosite

I would say if you’re paid in a week more than I make in a year you should be able to block out any negativity. Unless of course you’ve been assembled by a man who loves to gamble badly & buy old brands & football players nobody wants.

      • thewildchimp

I agree. But I don’t think most of them see it that way. They look at it as a regular job, that’s why so many of them end up wasting the money in the end. Mahrez, for example.

  • Neil O

Joselu needs a nice glass of red wine before kick off – that’ll take the edge off…… Now who used to do that many moons ago…?

The article is correct – however, fans can opt out – but as somebody stated below, booing is counterproductive. And yes, I do believe if the crowd communicates a lack of belief in a particular member of the team, that can also have an adverse effect.

I was at the Man City game and we were in with a chance of a point close to the end – Rafa’s approach is correct.

    • Leazes.

No the article is the rambling of a deranged lunatic.

      • Neil O

Maybe we can stick the “deranged lunatic” up front if Slimani is unavailable – we have a free transfer after all….. ;)

    • thewildchimp

Only with a forward capable of shouldering the attack all on his own. If Slimani turns out to be that guy – we are safe 100%.

      • Jezza

There is a lot of pressure and expectation on Slimani. We really needed to sign at least two strikers in January but with Fatso as always doing everything on a shoestring and pocketing all the profits, one on loan was the best we could ever hope for.

        • Peaky Magpie

Definitely needed 2,Hoss & Gayle just not up to it….I would have took a punt on Torres..

        • Albert Stubbins

aye- and if he doesnt score ten league goals we’re down I reckon. cometh the hour….

    • Leazes.

He’s not suffering from nerves or lack of confidence, he’s just rubbish!

      • FatParosite

Not worth the bargain bucket price we paid for him.

        • Albert Stubbins

i’d have rather had the boneless banquet to be honest.!!

      • TheNutJob

aye, he`s neigh good at all
        🐴
        😂😂😂

        • Albert Stubbins

          lol- neigh good. very funny.

        • 8prestondave

          Oh, rein it in Nutjob.

    • Tomb

City could have been five up their weakness is their defence and they will also score at least one so might as well have a decent go. I would argue it was the wrong setup ar home

    • Albert Stubbins

he’s currently playing like he’s had the bottle!!

  • HarryHype59

“There are are plenty teams worse than us”

Ahem…not true. If we are lucky there may be three.

    • Jezza

I doubt there’s even one, especially as all the other strugglers did far more in the transfer window than we did.

      • Tomb

Huddersfield are the only worse side on paper

  • FatParosite

A pep talk from the makers of “if you don’t go to the ground the team will suffer”

    • 1957

My direct debit is cancelled for next season I can’t see our beloved owner selling up and I won’t subsidise his chaotic regime any longer

      • Geordiegiants

Best thing you could do, I do think he will sell though. Every season he comes along with some sort of feel good factor deal that happening or something to get the fans to sign up. There isn’t anything he can do now to appease even the most blind fan.

        • Albert Stubbins

i’ll eat hay with a horse if he sells up- he’s trousering 30 million a year at least GG. I honestly cannot see the greed y t*** giving that up.

    • Frank Fforde

No. Its a pep talk from the makers of ‘If you go to the ground support the players on the pitch’ and ‘support the team and nothing. Doesn’t matter if you don’t like fat Mike. I don’t want us getting relegated!’. It’s not a pep talk for people refusing to go! Knock yourself out mate! Carry on moaning.

      • Leazes.

        stupid Ffucker

        • Gareth Marshall

          Way over the top.

          • Leazes.

I was just wondering which words this service provider deems inappropriate!

That’s Fleckman under an alias, so nothing is over the top.

          • Mark Davies

And you know for definite how settee ender?

          • Leazes.

Same Bing Crosby quote he used under another alias

          • Mark Davies

            Then ffair do’s

  • 1957

All Hoss has to do to get people on his side is to start at least putting the clear cut chances he is presented with on target. I don’t subscribe to the theory that he does a good job for the team by working hard, his primary job is to score goals.

If Slimani isn’t fit I’d rather play Perez as the lone striker in the next game than Hoss or Dreadful Dwight.

    • Geordiegiants

I would rather play Hoss than Dwight, he was absolutely disgraceful against Palace.

  • Tomb

So according to this we continue to act like happy clappers / sheep regardless of how much Ashley screws us over?

    • paul mclaughlan

He’s asking you to support the team not the regime.

    • Jezza

That’s certainly how it reads to me. Woeful article.

      • nevfur

So you want us relegated then?

        • Jezza

What are you on about? How can you possibly interpret my comment to mean I want the team I have supported for 45 years to be relegated? Are you Fleckman/Clarko/Monkseaton etc under yet another new ID?

          • nevfur

The article is about supporting the team on match days with avoiding relegation the priority for now and getting behind ALL of the team is the best way to do it but you think that’s a woeful idea. So what is the alternative?
            Definitely not Clarko lol

          • Jezza

I never said supporting the team was woeful. Accepting all the wilfull damage Ashley does to our club and not speaking out that is woeful.

          • nevfur

You did say the article was woeful and all it’s about is backing the team (not the owner). I think everyone is speaking out and doesn’t want Ashley here. Hopefully we stay up as it’s the best chance of getting rid and hopefully keeping Rafa. Win win win

    • Simon

You can give the players a bit of encouragement when they have the ball, and slate Ashley when they don’t. It’s not either/or.

  • Tomb

Thank god the fans werent so passive or accepting of being treated like mugs in the McKeag era or we might never have got Sir John Hall and the Keegan era wouldnt have happened.

    • Geordiegiants

I was a staunch sack the boarder. I had the boardbuster t-shirts, scarves and hats. It was the best feeling of unity ever at our football club, we were only getting 16,000 crowds, but everyone in the ground stuck together, it seemed like everyone knew everyone then. Now it’s a disjointed bunch of mismatch spectators, rather than fans.

      • Monkseaton Magpies

I got them made from the grainger market got sacked from United Supporters for change for going to games when I was on the board.
Could not stop going the first match was Leeds won five two.

      • Tomb

I still have the alan robson sack the board record lol

        • Geordiegiants

Ha ha mint, what a belta.

      • Tomb

Also you could turn up with a group of mates and stand together helped the atmosphere

        • Geordiegiants

It did yeah, and it was amazing!

    • Geordiegiants

Maybe a chance if Slimani is fit and Kenedys legs last, but if not how are we gonna attack with no attackers? This is what I don’t get about this craic from you, we don’t have a creative player or a finisher, so how are we meant to attack and create and score goals? It’s just amazing that people have been going on about it. Dwight is shyte, Hoss is tosh and Mitro was a donkey. We don’t/didn’t have another attacker. How can we attack? Tell me?????

      • paul mclaughlan

        Easy, run at manures defence.

        • Geordiegiants

Who do you think has the skills to do that?

          • Dillon Tovak

What’s worrying is this time last relegation we got in Townsend who made a big, direct influence and it wasn’t enough. Kenedy most likely doesn’t have enough alone so we’re going to have to pray him and Slimani combine consistently and bang em in.

          • Geordiegiants

They are our only hope, we can now go and attack, if these 2 are fit and playing, if not we don’t have any other option but to sit back and defend and hope to knock a goal here and there.

          • paul mclaughlan

Any professional attacking footballer should be able to run at another teams defence. In fact any professional player should be able to run at another teams defence. If they can’t then they should be sitting in the stands with the rest of us non professional. If you want me to name players. Then all of our team should be able to do it. After all that’s what they’re paid to do.

          • Geordiegiants

That is a separate argument they SHOULD.

          • paul mclaughlan

Any of our starting 11 “COULD” attack any defence if they put their minds to it. Whether they’re good enough to make any difference is the question.

          • Geordiegiants

I think we all know the answer, that’s the point I’m trying to make.

      • Tomb

Im not saying go completely gung ho but we definitley couls be showing more positive intent at home and I believe that would have earned us a few more wins. Other average to poor sides have managed to get results against the top sides by being positive.

        • Geordiegiants

I get where your coming from and would love to see it myself, but other clubs have decent strikers. Even before Sturridge look at West Brom attackers. Look at Huddersfield have goal scorer, Swansea have, Stoke have one. We don’t even have anyone to make them never mind score them.

  • Proppaboots

Hoss, Dwight, Perez………..none of them close to premiership class, (Mitro the same) when you look at our strikers this is the worst bunch I can remember for a long while.
Hoss……tries but just not good enough, no confidence in front of goal.
Dwight…..looks totally lost, desperately needs a goal.
Perez ….Weak as water, flatters to deceive, no better or stronger since we signed him.
You get what you pay for when it comes to goals in the modern game, not too many bargains these day’s, it’s not the players fault they are not good enough for this level they are playing out of their depth.

    • Duh

we now have a 29m striker, lets see how he does

      • Leazes.

That is what Leicester paid for him he’s valued at £9.9m

        • Duh

Yeah, my comment was somewhat tongue in cheek, we will see what he turns out to be worth, 100m if he bags the goals to keep us up, squat if he doesn’t

          • thewildchimp

I think he will turn out to be a bit better Mitro. Basically, Mitro who can score.

        • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

Who valued him at that? Your favourite site says more unless you are exchanging you Euros at the airport

    • thewildchimp

Perez and Mitro are class enough, however, Perez simply doesn’t have the physique for it. They are both still young and should be treated as such. In 2-3 years you might compare them to mature players.

Hoss and Gayle sadly no, it was obvious since they’ve put the shirt on.

  • Wor Lass

The only hope we have is that Slimani can start converting the chances created. Hoss has shown that he just isn`t up to it and Dwight`s performance on Sunday was shockingly bad. I look at other teams in the bottom half and they seem to have a number of good players who can cause the opposition problems. We`ve got a guy who`s been with us a week and can`t last much more than a half because he`s not match fit, a young winger who`s finding his feet and doesn`t always get a game, a left back who`s been called worse than Schitte for most of his time with us, a young spaniard who may or may not be fit and a captain who keeps having to do it himself. That`s it! Everyone else is basically Championship standard or below. Confidence has a lot to do with it and Sunday`s game could be a chance for that to grow. The one good thing is that at least they don`t lie down – they`re decent lads – but that doesn`t give us any extra consideration come the end of the season.

    • Dillon Tovak

I agree Gayle was embarrassing, did you notice how often a Palace defender would hold him or Perez off with a little arm and they’d go flying. It really was men against boys.

      • Rich Lawson

Just looking at his face on Sunday in the pub he doesn’t seem to be enjoying it anymore and is totally lacking in confidence,he did a good job for us last season but if we stay up he needs to go back to the Championship in the summer.

  • Monkseaton Magpies

No more banners just the good ones should win two one not been beaten many times recently and Man Utd off form get behind the team.

  • Cockneytrev

Another message for the 50000 ,
Let Ashley know what you think of him,,
All this “be nice for the team” is so much bollocks,, it’s never worked in the past and it won’t work now,, he hates bad publicity, give him grief for 90 minutes,,

    • nufcslf

      Hear bloody hear.

  • Martin

Good article. If you want to stay away, then stay away. However if you chose to go, support the team or if you can’t do that, just shut up. Not really that controversial.

    • Leazes.

I wonder if the pig will turn up in his helicopter.

    • nufcslf

There ‘s not that much noise at the best of times. For the 11 years of taking the p**s Cashley has pulled, all chanting should be pointed directly towards that fat c**t for 90 mins. Never going to happen though, becuse those that go let him get away with it. Very naffin sad in my small world.

  • Simon

I would love to hear Joselu being cheered whenever he gets the ball……. he’s a confidence player, and certainly I doubt he’ll turn in a match winning performance, but I think this article has hit the nail on the head…… Let’s raise the roof for all of them on the field and the bench and make it an afternoon to remember come hell or high water!

    • Leazes.

Nothing to do with confidence, he’s a poor player.

Even poor players play better with support hence the cup upsets even in the days when the top teams took it seriously

      • Rich Lawson

Despite any perceived effort he is so out of his depth here.

  • Albert Stubbins

I would love it if we beat them – love it. That quote should be on a banner as well.

    • Dillon Tovak

It doesn’t really hold connotations of actually beating them though does it 😂

  • Wezza147

Really good article and spot on!
It does the players no good when adding even more pressure on them. We might just might get a result on Sunday!

    • Leazes.

Its poor and childish David and voting for yourself isn’t allowed.

      • Cockneytrev

So this is another one of their/ his aliases?

        • Ben Jones

You are an odd fellow ain’t ya , if you want to believe everyone who disagrees with your views is the same person , you really need to see someone about help .

Oh here’s another one of his aliases lads . Yawn Yawn Yawn

          • Leazes.

It really is one poster, how many United fans are going to quote Bing Crosby on a football blog? do you think the photograph and the knowledge of crooners is compatible with his perceived age?

Indeed your own login has been revived after a period of 2 years, why is that?

One poster multi accolunts …… I’m blocking you too.

          • Cockneytrev

Honestly it’s embarrassing, it’s so transparent,,,

          • Desree

This thread should be printed and framed. You must all be so proud!

          • Cockneytrev

why don’t you have a go at the trolls who infest the site?

          • Ben Jones

Couldn’t care less pal . I’m on twitter mostly anyway

          • Jezza

As you and I both know, there are two brothers from Manchester who have been trolling this site for years under multiple ID’s. Ben Jones would appear to be the latest of those ID’s.

          • Dillon Tovak

You’d think the Neville’s would be too busy as well. I suppose Phil is a proven internet pest.

          • Ben Jones

            Hebburn comp mate 87-92 .

          • Cockneytrev

Ben ,, ive nothing against people who disagree with my point of view, it’s the total disregard they have for the running of the club that Ashley has and the mess it’s in,, how they make excuses for everything he does, how they jump on anyone’s back who has anything to say against the ashley tenure at my/our club with facts and figures that they pluck out of thin air, totally ignoring the fact he has been systematically stripping the club since he bought it. How they attack heroes from the near past regularly e.g. Keegan and shearer, attack anyone in the media who has any kind of anti Ashley comments e.g. Caulkin in the times,,
Now you must be a young lad who calls Christmas “The Winter festival” because we doesn’t want to offend anybody, agrees with what anybody has to say, as it might offend them, doesn’t want to protest as that’s not the way to change things,, in other words a wish washy liberal, with no mind of his own, who will say and do nothing as its too offensive to say anything,, then again you might be one of the breed of new key board warriors,, who are all bravado when hiding in their bedroom?
As for them being one and the same person,( or 2 people ) I’ve been reading their comments for years and I’ve come to the conclusion that they/he are trolls who don’t even suppor the club and I’m not the only one.
So all in all go back to your bedroom and play with your Xbox or perhaps you’ve gravitated to squeezing spots, or further still soiling your sheets,,,,,
PS found another one lads,( you fekin Toby)

          • Ben Jones

So how come the people who agree with you are not all just you?

Two people on here with multiple accounts with polar opposite opinions arguing with eachother , sounds funny anyway , if deluded

You’re one of them magic money people,it never runs out does it?
Where’s all the money we’ve already spent gone?

Why won’t a rich man just throw his money at my club for me :( . Ya big baby , your knight isn’t coming pal , the new people will want a return on their outlay , but I imagine you think
            ‘investment’= guaranteed success=riches

What happens when the success isn’t guaranteed though amd someone’s now 500m deep and we’re not further forward? Chuck more money that isn’t yours at the problem? Or cut cut cut

Have you even thought it through?

          • Dillon Tovak

I wonder which way you voted, clue….magic money tree 😂

          • Ben Jones

            Voted? Elaborate..

          • Dillon Tovak

            Never mind, it doesn’t matter.

          • Ben Jones

And where does the extra money you want to spend come from? Because it’s not coming out of NUFC as that’s been spent , do you want your owner to pump the club with extra funds? If so how much? Add the amount extra you want him to spend onto his current outlay…..how much does he now want to sell the club? Is he closer or further away from a seller reaching that price?

          • Dillon Tovak

Yes, dig deep into his pockets…..or…..sell up. Right away to the first reasonable offer.

          • Jezza

The thing is nobody had ever expected Ashley to fund transfers from his own pockets. All we have ever asked is for him to re-invest some of the club’s operating profit instead of funnelling the whole lot into his pocket.

          • Dillon Tovak

Well agreed Jezza, but if someone wants to argue all the moneys gone, I’d say Ashley should use his own money.

          • Ben Jones

And why should he? For YOUR pipe dream?

            Give over!

          • Dillon Tovak

Um no. If you buy a massive community asset such as Newcastle United and you don’t do due diligence, sorry but it’s HIS mistake. The club shouldn’t have to suffer for over a decade.
£250m offer, take it, cut your losses as he claims it’s been such a ⚽️ ache to him.

          • Ben Jones

Oh he’s guilty of paying too much , I agree with you wholeheartedly there :)

          • Dillon Tovak

He paid too much but he also, he’d admit in other words, did so irresponsibly.

          • Ben Jones

Right , and if he had not and had spent the ‘correct’ money purchasing the club , what then? You still want more money than the club generates spent don’t ya?,as what he overpaid for it makes no odds on how it’s been ran as a business to stand on its own two feet

          • Dillon Tovak

It’s not about what he paid as a fee for the club, he claims he didn’t know the finances of the club and it all came as a surprise so he’s had to run it on a shoe string.
I’d speculate he knew exactly what he was doing.
But speculation aside, even with his story, not doing a full and proper check of the massive business you were buyings books. That’s irresponsible and is fully his mistake and he should have to pay for it. Not run the club with an austere penny pinching tight wad policy for ever more.

          • Ben Jones

Why is this concept of the club just spending it’s generated funds a wild concept? Anything else suggests a failing organisation

          • Dillon Tovak

Do we though? Money seems to evaporate over the years.
But even if you are going to spend money…do so responsibly.
We needed to replace colo so we bought Thauvin. That’s one example of just not running the club correctly, with a long term eye for success on the pitch.

          • Ben Jones

Yes it ‘seems’ too . All the accounts from previous years are there for you to pick through with a fine tooth comb if you like , but! , fear not! , you don’t need too , just assume that hundreds of fans have tried to find something but can not and have not , as if they had , we would ALL know about it as FACT

          • Dillon Tovak

Are they? Those accounts that have us in hot water with HMRC?
If you haven’t followed the narrative for 11 years then this debate is not worth while having.
            Good day to you sir.

          • Ben Jones

That is over a different matter . But as you say there may be something fishy……I await your earth shattering discoveries…..
Or don’t bother and tell everyone that you KNOW stuff is going on but can’t be bothered to prove it..

          • Dillon Tovak

I didn’t say I knew, are you claiming you KNOW?
            Anyway…👋🏻

          • Ben Jones

Well you’re making a noise loud enough to make people think there’s something ‘off’ ….. you just fall short of being able to prove it , only the most important part . But does proof really matter when you can just keep throwing dirt huh?

          • Cockneytrev

Don’t bite to him,, he’s a troll comes on here under multiple names, just to wind up,, sad little man,,,,

          • Ben Jones

            Why would someone need too?

I mean what would be the purpose?

To give an illusion of a following of people with a different way of looking at it?

            To boost numbers? Seriously?

            You all have paranoia issues

          • Cockneytrev

            Ashley hoop licker👅👅

          • Ben Jones

          • Ben Jones

            Ok jezza calm down dear

          • Cockneytrev

I’m calm and not Jezza,, Fleckman
            You Ashley hoop licker👅👅

          • Ben Jones

The only response that deserves is to say it deserves no response .

Seriously need to grow up pal

            Please block me , you’re irrelevant…. :)

          • Desree

I reckon Ashley would have taken 250m if the offer was real. 250m cash is a 17.5% discount on a club with a chance of being relegated and with a major tax fraud investigation.

As he had no intention of spending in Jan, he clearly wants to sell.

Stavely couldn’t raise the cash is my gut feel.

And no other interested parties suggests that the club is not seen as a viable investment.

Not many businesses are sold with a major tax fraud case hanging over them at full value, if at all.

          • Cockneytrev

IMO Ashley has no intention of selling and never has,, NUFC is a cash cow and he make too much out of it,
He could have sold to the mansours, but didn’t even bother to turn up for the meeting, in fact he never even informed them he was not turning up for the meeting , just leaving them sitting waiting,,
I was informed of a reliable source he was in a casino (I don’t know if that’s true)

          • Jezza

            Spot on.

          • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

He bought the club with a VAT case hanging over it.

The tax case will cost the club £5m ish, that’s all.

I think he’d have accepted £285m in December, in the summer (assuming survival) he’ll want £350m.

Stavely’s offer was genuine but the way it’s was put together means any negotiation is slow.

          • Ben Jones

Proof of this or you made it up…

          • Jezza

It doesn’t matter how many new ID’s you register I will keep blocking you.

          • Ben Jones

Of course you will , of course I care not one jot!

          • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

            But you are lying Jezza!

Are you going to block everyone who tries to explain the reality of the situation, one backed up with facts and figures? You continually state something that you’ve either made up or heard at a Labour economics forum hosted by Diane Abbot, either way, it’s not true!

          • Jezza

Your are right. He is a Tory boy.

          • Ben Jones

Oh right! I thought you were talking about an NUFC poll/vote or something , only voted once in my life and that was getting Tony Blair into power….moving on….what does politics have to do with this anyway?

          • Dillon Tovak

Simply because of the magic money tree thing, amused me a little.

          • Cockneytrev

            Ashley hoop licker👅👅

        • Desree

Have you ever asked the question “what does Lee Charnley actually do?”

He spends all day posting on the mag under aliases.

          • Cockneytrev

            Sorry? you’ve totally lost me?

  • nufcslf

Oh to be so f**king optimistic, have you forgotten the second half against Palace already. Joselu shouldn’t have kicked a ball since the home match against Stoke and as for the rest of the team I am simply lost for words. Yet another bloody home loss is all I see.

    • Dillon Tovak

Jos wasn’t even on the bench was he?

      • nufcslf

I wouldn’t even give him a game in my over 50’s team. Not because he isn’t old enough, it’s because he not good enough….pot bellies included…

  • nevfur

Seems to me everyone wants Ashley to leave and there’s far more chance of that if we stay up and far more chance of staying up if we support the team. Poorer players and struggling players play better and play above themselves with support and the team plays better when the crowd get behind them. Some on here actually want to see the team relegated just to prove their own doom predictions correct. Well stuff that mate, I never want my team relegated I’ve seen it too often and it hurts. Also I have to say booing your own players no matter how bad they are is embarrassing and pathetic. The loyalest football supporters the world has ever had????

    • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

Exactly, Ashley wants to sell, he has more chance of selling if we stop up.

    • Jezza

Nobody on here wants to see Newcastle relegated apart from those two brothers from Manchester who troll this forum under multiple ID’s. Let me tell you something, if we do get relegated it will not be because of the fans not cheering on the team it will be purely because of Ashley’s refusal to dip into the club’s operating profits to adequately strengthen a Championship team for the Premiership.

      • nufcslf

It really is as simple as that. The only want for failure is to rid of the moron with the least amount of interest in a successful football club, but sadly pulls all the strings.

      • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

One’s called Jezza, the other is leazes

    • Dont stop bobbi fleckman

      Exactly

  • Danny Temple

I would never like to see Newcastle fans singing about staying up…
