Newcastle United have the fourth round of the FA Cup and Premier League action within the next five days but it is the January transfer window that is occupying most of our thoughts.

So far there have been 23 confirmed incoming transfers to Premier League clubs and Newcastle United’s contribution so far has been the Kenedy loan deal, which first started up last summer.

The 21 year old left sided player has pace and potential to help in the relegation struggle but will Rafa Benitez be getting anything else of substance?

Relegation rivals Brighton, Huddersfield, Crystal Palace, Stoke and West Ham have all brought in bigger signings, so will Newcastle join them?

Last week, Rafa Benitez said that Mike Ashley had assured him that money would be made available to bring in the signings he wanted but still not one player bought.

Ashley’s people leaked that Newcastle were preparing to spend £20m on a mystery striker.

That turned out to be Nicolai Jorgensen of Feyenoord but the Dutch media report that Newcastle only made a derisory offer of £12m which was instantly rejected.

Our question for Newcastle fans is a simple one: Do you believe Newcastle will spend £15m or more on a player in January transfer window? Vote below please.

  • Peaky Magpie

Where’s the “will they f**k” box to vote ???

    • Rich Lawson

It’s next to the ”they won’t sell Mitro’ at all” box on the other nonsense quiz.

  • JohnnyNUFC

    Haha maybe when Ashley’s dead

    • JonMag

you would have to cremate him to make sure

      • Peaky Magpie

I think the Moose might be able to get his hands on a wood chipper, will that do ???

        • TheNutJob

he can, his mate works in Kielder
          😂😂😂

        • Rich Lawson

No,He’ll get stuck in it,like in Fargo !

          • Peaky Magpie

🤣🤣🤣 I know exactly what you mean, love ‘Fargo’

          • Rich Lawson

            Film and TV,great.

          • Peaky Magpie

Aye,never been a massive fan of Ewan McGregor but thought he was excellent in the last tv series.

          • Rich Lawson

He was brilliant as both brothers then spoilt it all by being a t##t to his wife n kids and refusing to go on breakfast tv over some nonsense.

  • ghostrider

    I sincerely hope we don’t.
I hope we bring in loans that are itching to show their worth before Rafa totally destroys their attempts.

  • JonMag

the Fat [email protected]@k spends more in a curry house than on Newcastle

    • Jordan Peterson

One day it will come out how much he has taken from Newcastle United.

      • JonMag

how many other clubs are in for the Danish goal machine when strikers are at a premium. if it`s none, ask yourself why

        • TheFatController

Well, we’re probably the only club stupid enough to let it be known we want him….

There’s probably a number of clubs capable of not playing out in public, but for them it’s not a smokescreen for getting to deadline day and then announcing they couldn’t agree a valuation ‘and won’t pay over their valuation’.

Sometimes what our club say (through leaks) isn’t what they intend to do.

          • JonMag

but it was under wraps & it only came out when the bid went in. it`s all smoke & mirrors with that lot

          • TheFatController

What were they keeping under wraps til the first bid went in?

We announced (leaked) we would break the transfer record, that Rafa could spend £20m, and then put a low bid in to a club who don’t need to sell.

Smells like……something that doesn’t smell good.

        • Jezza

No clubs are in for Jorgensen least of all Newcastle United. It’s all a publicity stunt. Standards have fallen so much at our club under Ashley that even the false transfer links have to involve mid priced mediocre players to seem remotely believable.

        • HarryHype59

According to Clarko, Spurs 😂 Wolves and Everton are linked with him!

          • Rich Lawson

Fat Sam wins by getting to the motor way service station 1st with his own recyelable brown paper bag.

  • TheFatController

Problem is all other clubs can smell desperation. And that puts the price of any player we enquire about up a few million.

The same applies to arsenal and Aubameyang. Letting Sanchez go cheap, Dortmund know they need a replacement, and with it being public knowledge they want PEA, can play hard ball knowing arsenal fans will be angry if the targeted player doesn’t arrive.

We’re always on the back foot because of the shoddy way we approach transfers. No wonder we get the Saivets of this world in no problem and fail with players that would really improve us….

    • JonMag

desperation is only emitted by the fans, Ashley & co know they have no intention of paying £20m

      • TheFatController

My point was we lose all our bargaining power by needing players badly.

If we won’t pay £20m, Feyenoord will happily hold onto him. They’re near the top, financially sound, and have a player scoring goals that other clubs want.

By comparison, look at us and the Mitro sale. We’re a shambles of a club.

        • JonMag

you`re correct in a way, but my point is, no other clubs are in for him

          • TheFatController

I think we’re the only club pretending to be in for him. Hence happy that the failed bids are leaked.

Serious clubs don’t let anything out of the bag, and if the selling club do, they go elsewhere. Look at Man City and Sanchez, dropped their interest when it became a circus.

          • Jezza

True while on the other hand NUFC deliberately create a circus when in reality absolutely nothing is happening. Look at this week’s pantomime.

Monday: Newcastle are signing a striker for a club record fee.

Tuesday: Newcastle are signing a striker for £20 million.

Wednesday: Newcastle have made a £12 million bid for a striker valued at £20 million by his club.

Friday: Still no sniff of a signing.

31st January 11pm: See above entry for Friday.

    • HarryHype59

This club has a reactive transfer policy. We always seem to be negotiating from a position of weakness!

  • Paul Patterson

Expect another loan or nowt at all.

  • Jezza

They won’t even spend £1.5 million, I guarantee it.

    • JonMag

if they do it`ll be a loan fee & wages, then they`ll sell a player for more & the FCB will sky the profit

    • TheFatController

Depends on the wages and fee for an unfit striker from Europe on loan last minute….

      • Jezza

I genuinely don’t believe we’ll even get some duffer on loan.

  • HarryHype59

I would sooner see us pay for a loan player than squander £20m on a player from the weak Eredivisie who was valued £2.5m in 2016.

    • Jezza

I can guarantee that neither of those things are going to happen anyway.

      • Mark Davies

I honestly think we will sign him or A.N.Other. A £20 wager to SBR foundation or Prostate Cancer by whoevers wrong mate?

        • Jezza

No problem, I am happy to agree to that. If Newcastle United sign a striker/centre forward/attacking player not currently affiliated with the club in any way before the deadline who plays first team football for the club before 1st March, you’ve got your £20 donation.

          • Mark Davies

Great mate. Agreed. I assume you meant 1st feb tho. And all good banter for a good cause.

I really hope your wrong though as we need someone/anyone who knows what a goal is!!

          • Jezza

No I meant 1st March. As long as they are signed before 1st February and play in the first team by 1st March. It’s just to rule out any 17 years old kids or such like they might sign. As long as it’s a first team player signed either permanently or on loan but not a current Newcastle player returning from a loan at another club.

          • Mark Davies

Ok mate. Very fair and clear

          • Jezza

Just to let you know I haven’t forgotten our little charity wager. As long as Slimani plays first team football either as a starter or sub for NUFC before 1st March per the terms we agreed, I will be making the £20 donation.

          • Mark Davies

Mate, as its a loan, shall we call it a tenner each in good faith

          • Jezza

That’s very honourable of you. I’m happy with that if you are.

          • Mark Davies

I certainly am sir. I shall pay the sbr foundation or prostate cancer 10 on monday when back from palace and sober! Any preference mate

          • Jezza

Fair enough I’ll donate my tenner on Monday too. I’ll do the foundation if you like and you can do the prostate one.

          • Jezza

I’ve donated my tenner to the foundation now. If you go to the site and click the donate here link, you’ll see my donation under the name of Jezza NUFC.

          • Mark Davies

I dont meed to check mate. Take you as an honest chap. Sorry taken a while to reply bit been a busy day. I donated by txt to prostate charity. Will try to pop screeen shot on here

          • Jezza

Don’t bother with the screen shot, marra. Your word is good enough for me.

          • Jezza

Also excluding any Shefki Kuqi type signing of course. By that I mean a has been who never was on a free transfer from the football scrapheap.

          • Mitros gotta start

            Joselu #2
            Sandro anyone?

    • TheFatController

Who puts a much lower bid than valuation in to a club that don’t need to sell? Well, apart from us!

It’s the usual ‘string out the window then announce there’s no value, but here’s a cheap unfit striker on loan last minute …’ trick I suspect .

      • Mitros gotta start

        Amanda stavely apparently

  • Peaky Magpie

Regardless of incoming business I for one am expecting a “big name “ still been sold by Wednesday evening and Fatso trousering the profits.

    • HarryHype59

      Highly likely!

    • Jezza

Dwight Gayle sold on the evening of the 31st, no new signings, Fatso pockets £15 million, Newcastle relegated, job done.

      • Peaky Magpie

        Aye,Rafa resigns Feb 1st.
        Mission complete.

  • TheNutJob

Nee transfer news then, oh well i`m away shopping chances are i`ll spend more in toon than the son of Satan will

    • Peaky Magpie

A Costa Coffee will go over his spend Nut,enjoy.😁

  • mactoon

Same old same old. This deal is probably going nowhere with less than a week to go it will probably eat up the rest of the window. Charnley and co are an absolute joke

  • JonMag

This mornings activity, the FCB downs 3 English for breakfast, Penfold hides in the lower depths of St James so Rafa can`t find him

    • Peaky Magpie

Chained to the wall in his gimp suit, snooker ball firmly in place in gob 😂

      • MichaelMaximusMoose

Then into the wood chipper he goes
        😆😆

      • Desree

        LMAO

        • Desree

          Bring out the GIMP

  • MichaelMaximusMoose

    It`s all Fake News

  • Hughie

Deja vu– the usual fake news throughout the month disseminated by the NUFC propaganda team, to make us think the club is trying to act. Marvellous way to treat 50k plus customers. Failed bid/s by interested party used as an excuse. One untested loan signing in, no first team players out, 5.75 days of the window left. Inadequate first team squad as defined by a world class manager, and the probability of relegation with £60-70 million loss resulting at the least. Really competent way to run a multi million pound business. From the owner down they are way out of their depth..but these are the untouchables………

  • Geordie Pete Moore

Everton think nothing of spending £27 Million on a striker, Southampton straight out with the cash too. I cant see us spending that sort of cash unless Mitro has a remarkable back recovery and either moves on for silly money or we will keep him and say he is like a new signing for us. I don’t get why Ronaldo Aarons isn’t used more with Merino, we simply cannot sell JJ Shelvey he can open up a game in an instant, Unless behind the scenes talks with a buyer are ongoing I would say get used to the team we already have and to be fair its not a bad team and a team well capable of staying up but then again I did say that the last time we dropped out of the prem league. we need stability and heart any incoming players have to be an instant success and fit in, If we lose against Burnley and no improvements have been made then say farewell to the prem league once again looking at the fixture lists of all teams in the same trouble. Good luck to the players and Rafa get on with the fight and if no one comes in then start sweating

  • Desree

If spending 20m on this lad is the plan to avoid relegation then we are bound the same fate/class as villa, leeds, blackburn and sheff wed fans. Lets face it, they are all decent lads and we can talk about great games from the 90s, which is what I end up doing anyway out here in aus.

All the other fans are plastic.

    • Dillon Tovak

It’s probably more fun being a Leeds or Sheff Wed fan in the championship all these years than most years we’ve spent in the Prem recently.
Probably win one, draw one, lose one. It’s better than win one in 6 and defend for 90 mins.
If all our matches in the championship were streamable I wouldn’t be fussed about being relegated.
I’ve enjoyed both years we’ve spent there.

      • Jezza

20 years ago we were beating Barcelona in the Champions League now beating Burton and Rotherham in the second division is as good as it gets. That more than anything emphasises the totally unnaceptable lowering of standards that fat greedy blood sucking parasite has brought to this club.

        • Dillon Tovak

          It’s true Jezza, unfortunately.

    • Jezza

Not spending a penny and gambling on the current woefully inadequare squad has always been Ashley’s real masterplan to avoid relegation.

  • Haych

The level of BS served by Ashley and Charnley is staggering, why are they bidding almost half of a players value and expecting the selling club to agree to those terms…and worse…expecting us all to swallow that they are trying…absolute idiots

    • Jezza

The thing is they don’t expect the bid to be accepted and don’t want it to be accepted. As you rightly say it is pure BS to try and fool the fans into thinking they tried.

    • Mitros gotta start

You could almost call it derisory and a huge waste of time and effort…..almost exhausting

  • East Durham Mag

There’s more chance of Fatty sitting in the middle of the Gallowgate for the rest of the season.

  • NUFCDan

Not expecting anyone to sign and expecting one or possibly both of Gayle and Mitro to be sold on deadline day with no time to get a replacement ‘over the line’
