Richard Keys and Andy Gray have been previewing the match at St James Park today.

Andy Gray says it is a ‘must win’ match for Rafa Benitez and his players.

After the Swansea match, Newcastle have 15 matches left and only four of them are against clubs who are outside the top 11 in the current Premier League table.

An excellent run of seven points from nine in three relegation clashes over the festive period have lifted Newcastle out of the relegation zone and into a far more respectable 13th position.

However, they are still only two points above the drop zone and have Manchester City away up next.

Both Richard Keys and Andy Gray think Newcastle will win today’s game comfortably, both predicting a 2-0 home win.

That would lift the Magpies to 25 points from 23 games. Last season 35 points were needed for safety so potentially, only three wins and a few draws could then be enough for survival.

What points total that will be needed is all guesswork but one thing for sure, three more points today would be a massive step towards staying up, especially as it would then mean Swansea were nine points behind and looking hot favourites to fill one of those three relegation spots.

Andy Gray speaking to beIN Sports:

“I am definitely going Newcastle to win.

“Even though Swansea have changed their coach – Carvalhal in.

“Newcastle need to win this one, this is a must win game for Rafa.

“I am going to go 2-0 to Newcastle.”

Richard Keys:

“That (2-0 to Newcastle) is exactly what I would have done.

“So now I have to go either 1-0 or 3-0.

“So with no confidence at all I will go 1-0, as I really fancy Newcastle (to win 2-0).”

      Strange fetish that….sh4gging a monkey

  • robbersdog

Does anyone care about these two sleazy has-beens?

  • Toonarden

I would have thought with all the negative and salacious publicity about Keys’ private life and his amorous shennigans he’d have more to worry about than Toon’s fixtures and possible results.

  • Wor Lass

I remember when Keys had a massive rant about Ashley and how he had systematically ruinned our club. Everyone was saying how perceptive he was and how refreshing it was for a major pundit to be telling it how it is.
