Manchester City fans have their say before Newcastle match – Comments

Manchester City fans traumatised after losing their first Premier League game if forever…

Can Newcastle make it consecutive defeats for Pep Guardiola.

A win for Newcastle would make it three away Premier League victories in a row for the first time since 2001.

Manchester City fans seem pretty confident though…

Manchester City fans comment via their top Blue Moon message board:

‘Newcastle aren’t going to attack, can’t see much need for a leftback at all tbh, we could stick anyone there.

Looking forward to this tbh, think we’ll be well up for it and ready to really send a message.’

‘A win today is a must.

Any dropped points today will only boost United if they get anything at Burnley. Not to mention the signing of $anchez. No doubt Rafa and Newcastle will park the bus.’

‘We found it hard going just a few games ago against this lot and I expect the same.’

‘I doubt our defence will be under that much pressure from Newcastle.

It’s the perfect game for Stones to get a bit of confidence back.’

‘Reckon the lads will be raring to get that Liverpool  defeat out of their system.

Luckily Newcastle are probably the perfect opponent as our recent record against them is phenomenal. As is Sergio’s scoring record.’

‘There should be no reason to lose this one, if anything we should smash them after the Liverpool comedy of errors.’

‘Need an early goal to settle the nerves especially if it’s down to 9 points. Rafa will set up his side well but we should have too much quality.’

‘God help the Geordies

They’re gonna feel the full wrath of Pep and the team.’

‘Don’t expect Newcastle to do anything different from what they did at home, so we can expect to face a massed defence.’

‘Whole week off? I’d be sh….. myself if I were Newcastle.

7-0.’

‘I’m confident we’ll win this one, but not quite in agreement with some of you that it will be a walk-over.

Remember, this is the same Newcastle team that we struggled past 1-0 just after Christmas with them playing the most negative tactics I have ever seen of any opponent on their own ground (literally stopping running as soon as the ball crossed the half way line in the first half).

And they nearly got something from the game when they suddenly seemed to wake up in the last ten minutes.

I’m sure it’ll be different at our place, but still think we’ll need to grind out a result against a team with 10 men unwilling to leave the penalty box.’

‘Sorry Newcastle, it’s another thumping. Last time we were in this position Sergio scored 5.’

‘To have any chance to hurt us Toon will need the football…..therein lies their problem.

Don’t think they will have enough ball and lack quality anyway. I feel a week to repair after our wild 8 minutes at Anfield we will be at it big time….predict a comfortable 5+ goal win.’

‘Newcastle having to face us after our first loss and a full week’s rest..they must feel lucky. I genuinely think we’ll put 5 or 6 past these but the second leg of the League Cup is a few days after so expect we might see full strength away at Bristol rather than this one.’

‘Toon hate coming to the Etihad for good reason and Saturday will be no different……’

‘This will be a bloodbath if we put our chances away. Would like to see Kun bang in a hat trick. Massive confidence boost for him and the team. Give Sane a rest, play Diaz, his close control is dazzling.’

’16-0 please.’

‘Actually, what is the biggest win/loss in the premier league.’
