When will the Newcastle takeover happen by…if at all?

This was always going to be a tough long season but undoubtedly the will it/won’t sell has added a whole new dimension to the stress levels.

Mike Ashley insisted he wanted the club sold by Christmas but that may be looking a little optimistic…

So what do you think?

Much talk in the newspapers and of course headlines claiming new updates as to progress but you believe what you want.

Can a Newcastle Takeover really happen whilst the club are involved in a relegation battle.

Does the relegation battle mean one or both sides will see a need for all of the more urgency to get the deal completed as soon as possible?

So please answer the question ‘When will the Newcastle Takeover happen by?’, in your opinion.

  • Jezza

It was never going to happen. Anybody who thought it was has clearly learned nothing from ten and a half miserable years of Fatso’s time at this club.

    • Leazes Ender

The whole thing is nonsense and the dutiful and gullible press have done their job by filling the spaces …. Amanda’s Husband is a Liverpool fan, they attended the match as guests of Liverpool…. why would a Liverpool fan want United…. he’d have the same ambition for us as this Chelsea fan we have now.

      • Big Al 1967

It was exactly the same in July with the supposed Chinese consortium takeover rumours. Gave the fat one the perfect excuse not to properly invest in the summer and he will do the same again in January and use PCP as an excuse

        • Peaky Magpie

Yep,and once again come the end of the season,it’s all one big p**s take for Billy Bunter.

        • Geordiegiants

Let’s be fair to Jabba, he doesn’t need an excuse!

      • Tomb

But what about the famous curry night that was conclusive proof of a sale wasn’t it?

    • TheNutJob

Hope JFK isn`t in the stands on Saturday Jezza

  • Kneebotherm8

I’ve voted Christmas, but I’m not sure which Christmas, definitely not this Christmas or next.

    • Geordiegiants

Ha ha same here, exactly what I was thinking.

  • Dutch

Exactly Jezza. The. Quicker this story of takeover goes away the better. We need to knuckle down and get through this chaos without worrying about Amanda. I firmly believe the team are being affected by it.

  • HTL

I think you are asking the wrong people this question, we can only guess what is going to happen (if anything at all)

  • TheFatController

Of course Ashley wants to sell.

The problem is he wants to sell at the value of a 50k a week, fit for purpose ground, well-equipped squad, PL club.

Our squad cost £100m. Most good PL squads cost £200m+

So, no surprise his £350m sale has met with one bid of £250m

Unless he realises he has a squad £100m under where he thinks we are, he’ll never find a buyer.

This is what happens when you have a businessman owner who can’t understand the simple maths of squad investment and value.

It’s like his assistant is cutting out any info on transfers among PL clubs from his morning paper. ‘No, Mr Ashley, the world transfer record is still at £20m. There is no player called Neymar, despite what you may have read on the back of a paper you glimpsed in a hotel lobby in August…£12m is a huge transfer fee yes sir’

    • TheNutJob

      Liverpool & Spurs want a billion, £250m isn`t enough

      • TheFatController

        So it’s a bargain at £350m?

Better tell the World’s investors that, they’ve clearly got their maths all wrong.

In fact, why don’t you go to the Middle East, just state that one sentence, and watch the wealthy investors make you their ‘staveley’ to head up a £500m bid?

Because if you can’t, the world’s investors are telling you to stop typing nonsense like ‘it’s not enough’ when clearly you and Ashley both live in the same parallel universe of denial…

        • TheNutJob

          £300m & it`s yours

          • TheFatController

That’s probably a fair price, if I get to control January and by that I mean my own bod controls negotiations, not penfold. The window is a month, I don’t want a load of ‘not quite over the line yet’ emails from him…

          • Kneebotherm8

Sick to death of hearing that line from these jokers over the years……….they just tekk the pss oot of us………simple as.

          • TheFatController

I’d expect emails like this :-

‘Danny Ings wants a goal scoring bonus if he gets 10 goals between now and May? Who does he think he is…? We gave him a tangerine at Christmas …’

          • Kneebotherm8

Ha ha ha ha…….many a true thing said in jest…..you’ll not be far off wi’ that one.

          • HarryHype59

Not with the main revenue source under threat!

  • TheNutJob

Fatty`s bored with the Toon, but he`s not that bored that he`ll sell on the cheep.
i diven`t care what anybody say`s Newcastle is worth more than £250m

  • Leicester Mag

The expression about Fenwicks window and bare rse springs to mind in terms of probability. So Mikey continues to fool enough of the people enough of the time to keep this latest grubby charade going

  • Thefootballerwhocouldfly

Sadly Ashley will alienate many loyal supporters. He will not be concerned as he’ll continue to promote his product. Charnley & another lap dog manager (after Rafa leaves) will be at his beck & call. So hope I’m wrong and Amanda saves the day & club!
