The Premier League form table tells its own story for both Newcastle United and Everton.

A lot of people expected Everton be top six after spending over £140m in the summer.

Well they have crept up to 10th in the table and as you can see from the Premier League form table below, they are a top six side based on the last half dozen results.

The Toffees picking up two wins and a draw from Unsworth’s final four games, before Sam Allardyce came in for the win against Huddersfield and Sunday’s fortunate draw at Liverpool.

As for Newcastle…after the weekend the form table looks even worse.

They were 20th of 20 before playing Leicester but with both West Ham and Swansea picking up their first wins in a long time, it has really left Newcastle isolated at the bottom.

Only one  point from 18 (actually 1 in 21 if you go back to the seventh last match), with West Brom next worst with three draws in the last six games.

The next six games clearly needs an upturn in results and whilst Arsenal away and Man City at home are included in those, Rafa’s team also face Everton and Brighton at home, as well as Stoke and West Ham away. If Newcastle aren’t at least getting up to around mid-table when it comes to recent form over those six matches, then it is going to definitely going to be worrying times ahead.

Against an Everton side who have won none of their eight PL away games, the upturn in form needs to start on Wednesday night.

Here is the Premier League form table which covers the past six matches for all teams:
