With no wins in 11 league games this season, the Newcastle United Academy side have had a tough time of it.

However, the Thursday night air on the south coast clearly suited them, as they produced a sparkling performance at the Amex Stadium.

Newcastle United’s Under 18s smashed Brighton with a 5-0 win, to take them into the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup.

Kelland Watts gave Newcastle the lead 10 minutes into the game but they were indebted to goalkeeper Dan Langley for that lead being maintained.

However, once Lewis Cass scored the second after 65 minutes, Newcastle were ruthless.

Watts went on to score two more, both from the penalty spot, guaranteeing the win.

Kurtis Russell completed the scoring in the final stages.
