After four defeats in a row, it is a challenge for the players of Newcastle United to now pick themselves up and get back on track.

A trip to the Hawthorns tomorrow night and that is the first of six games spread over a 25 day stretch which takes us up to Christmas and the halfway point of the season.

Rafa Benitez has said he wants a minimum of six points from these matches to take Newcastle to 20 points (or better) from the first 19 games.

We have two separate questions for you this morning.

First up, would you take a point at West Brom?

Secondly, how many points do you think Newcastle will get from these next six matches?

Vote below please.

These are the matches that face Newcastle in the next half dozen games:

West Brom v Newcastle – Tuesday 28 November (8pm)

Chelsea v Newcastle – Saturday 2 December (12.30pm)

Newcastle v Leicester – Saturday 9 December (5.30pm)

Newcastle v Everton – Wednesday 13 December (7.45pm)

Arsenal v Newcastle – Saturday 16 December (3pm)

West Ham v Newcastle – Saturday 23 December (3pm)

We can win at West Brom if Rafa fields his best 11, that means ditching
    Hoss, SloMo, Manquillo & Perez.

    • Leicester Mag

To stave off relegation we have to take points off teams like W Brom, silver sh1thead or not

    • Stevie

Funny, since he dropped Perez from the starting 11 we haven’t picked up a single point.

      • MichaelMaximusMoose

Look who he replaced him with, a bigger load of shyte

      • fistsofsteel2

Completely agree. Perez has been a massive miss – we have nobody else who closes down, and presses the opposition like him.

    • We have a best 11? Who knew? ;-)

  • Stevie

The most important thing is to stop West Brom, one of our relegation rivals, getting 3 points and going level with us. If we don’t, then by the end of Sunday, we could easily find ourselves 17th. If we CAN win then great, it relieves the pressure for a little while longer. However the task has got to be to get to January without being in the relegation mire and hope to God that we bring some help in during the transfer window.

Eight points for me. West Brom, Leicester, Everton and West Ham.

  • Dillon Tovak

I went for 10 being very optimistic.
But in reality with our current form it seems more like maybe 1 point, a draw against West Ham.

  • MadMag83

Our best chance of points will be Everton or West Ham. Needs to drop Lejeune for Lascelles or Mbemba and Shelvey needs the boot for Merino and Hayden to partner up in midfield. Then put Perez in the number 10 role and take your pick up top because none of them are any good right now.

I’d also be tempted to drop Elliot for Darlow. If we get anything from the West Bromwich match I’ll be happy.

      Perez. NO

      • MadMag83

Joselu and Gayle isn’t working mate. Perez was linking up ok with Joselu previously, so in the absence of anything better if go for him. Even if he goes with Mitrovic instead of Joselu.

      • fistsofsteel2

We’ve lost every game since Perez hasn’t been selected.

His endless running and closing down in midfield is being sorely missed.

    • I don’t think we have a best 2 strikers. Put in whoever you want, none of these guys are going to score a lot of goals or even a modest number of goals.

  • Toontone100

Definitely take a point at West Brom – we need to stop losing games. As for next 6 matches – 5 points which would mean 19 from half the season and just on course for staying up.

I put 7, need a point on Tuesday just to break the cycle!. I think after that another 6 is possible then its going to be a slog for the rest of the season if the takeover does not go through. Its all about survival now and 17th would be gift I would happily take right now.

    • Peaky Magpie

I thought at start of season we would finish 14th but like yourself I’d also settle for 17th right now.

  • Stevie

Unlikely we’ll get anything away at Chelsea or Arsenal. Hopefully a point each away at West Ham and West Brom and beat either Everton or Leicester at home, with a point against the other. That’s 6 points and maybe 14 or 15th place. To be honest, at the moment, I’d probably take that…

  • fistsofsteel2

A point is all Rafa ever aims / plays for – regardless of the opposition.

    We’ll get beat.
