Paul Ince has been considering Newcastle’s match against Bournemouth, as well as where the Magpies will end up after 38 matches.

This afternoon ninth placed Newcastle are home to 19th placed Bournemouth.

Whilst with 14 points from the 10 games so far, Rafa Benitez would only need another 21 points from the remaining 28 games to ensure survival, based on last season – Hull finished third bottom with 34 points.

However, Paul Ince sees a bleak outlook for Newcastle fans and kind of apologises for it…

The former Man Utd and Liverpool midfielder has predicted a 2-1 win for Bournemouth but says ‘I find it tough backing against Newcastle as their fans are brilliant, always supporting their team…’.

When it comes to May 2018, Paul Ince has even worse news for the black and whites.

Alongside Chris Sutton, Jermaine Jenas, and Robbie Savage, Ince has picked his relegation candidates for BT Sport.

As well as Brighton and Crystal Palace, Paul Ince says Newcastle United will also be relegated – all the relegation choices of the four pundits are listed below.

Paul Ince speaking to the Express:

“I find it tough backing against Newcastle as their fans are brilliant, always supporting the team, but they’re almost impossible to predict.

“They obviously were pipped by Burnley on Monday but have had some decent draws against Liverpool and Southampton.

“Bournemouth desperately need the win though – so they’ll be all-out in trying to get it.

“Prediction – Newcastle 1 Bournemouth 2.”

  • East Durham Mag

“Call me the guvnor” says it all about Ince really.

    • Dillon Tovak

Except when it comes to penalties, then call him the bottler.

  • csh

Not really bothered by what many of these so-called “experts” predict.
It’s very rare any of them are actually right and 90% of them have little to no clue about our club.

  • Wor Lass

Loads of people on here were predicting that we`d bomb and go straight down at the start of the season (especially after the first couple of games). If we lose today they`ll be crawling out of the woodwork again. To be honest, with no firepower up front it`s going to be a hard season but we haven`t played anyone yet that we`re incapable of beating – and that includes Spuds. We just need someone to put the ball in the net.

  • steve pearce

Joey Barton reckons the reason why you’ll never succeed in management is because your’e a walking lard bag Incey. I reckon that’s because your’e so full of shyte you can hardly walk and would struggle even to get into a football ground…

  • Libby

    What an idiotic statement…

  • Leazes Ender

    Controversial article

    What a shocker.

  • Paul Patterson

Current job Ince? There we go . .
Pin his comments on the changing room wall before todays game. No need for a team talk.

    • Leicester Mag

I was thinking on the toilet door

  • Leicester Mag

Expect to stay up, takeover or not may be pivotal. Can’t see the chubby cheerleader supporting Rafa in the transfer market if still stuck with his now least favourite toy. Having said all of that Ince is still a t1t.

  • Peaky Magpie

Can’t take anyone with a foreheed like that seriously ! Doesn’t his overrated son now play for Huddersfield ???? Mmmm !

  • pedrodelgardo

    More garbage.

  • Guest 2

It’s why all these numpties became footballers and now ‘pundits’. They haven’t the smarts or common sense for anything else.
If we’d lost all the games they suggested we would, we’d be playing non league football by now.

  • hetonmag

A new day dawn’s and another pundit comes out of the woodwork with meaningless garbage, all the above mentioned haven’t got a brain cell between them.

  • Mrkgw

Lets hope that we win today and prove him wrong.

  • Aaron505

Paul Ince is a footballer, so probably can’t count and doesn’t realise 14 points after ten games is a very good tally. Most pundits only seem to remember back as far as the last game.

  • Stephen Butler

free to air tv tonight in oz. happy days first time ever. 2-0. to us

    • Andrew Cowley

Right on can’t believe I don’t have to search net for game.4-1 us go sbs

  • Tino o

What a totally idiotic statement from another moron with [email protected] for brains

  • Mike

Who is ince….dinosaur past nothing now no one listening to this crp a bit like greedy git Owen

  • Rich Lawson

Amused to see another highly regarded pundit,Joey Barton, say that the reason Ince doesn’t have a manager’s job at the moment is because ”he is to fat ”

  • Gallowgate Dave

I’m always more worried when a pundit backs us as most of them are clueless. I remember every single one of them telling us we were “too good to go down” under McClaren when anyone who actually went to/watched our games that season knew exactly where we were heading. Don’t get too wound up by anything a pundit says, most of them have single digit IQs.

  • Doug Dacre

Paul Ince, Like Merson etc are not worth the effort, basically some village is missing it’s idiot.;-)

  • John

Paul Ince is full hot air and the size of him full of more than hot air never rated high m as a player and what is he doing now ehhhh nowt

    • Stevie

So not that full of hot air then after all. Anyone who doesn’t think Newcastle are in a relegation battle is deluding themselves. We do not have a functioning attack; we can’t just rely on the occasional 0-0 draw to keep us safe…

  • HarryHype59

Unless a quality striker is signed in the next window this team will struggle!

    • Jezza

We have got by far the weakest strike force in the Premiership. Lack of goals was always going to be our problem this season. We could well be in relegation trouble by January and if nothing is done in that window to significantly reinforce our frontline we will go down, no question.

  • GToon

Honeymoon period well and truly over me thinks.

  • Richard Burrowes

I think if Newcastle United Get the money in January I think they will get to the top ten this season

  • X,WHY,Y MAN.

Ince may well be right because if this take over doesn’t happen there’s a great chance Mike Ashley will rack up relegation number three !

  • Whickhamrobbie

he could be right unless we strengthen in jan , But as the club is for sale Ashley will probably hold off so if it doesn,t go through before xmas i feel we are down Rafa or not.
