Rafa Benitez is having Yannick Toure watched according to reports on Thursday afternoon.

The young striker was born in Dakar (Senegal) but not has a Swiss passport and has indeed played for Switzerland at Under 17 level.

The Mail report that the 17 year old is being scouted by a number of clubs, including Newcastle United.

They say that he hasn’t agreed a new contract yet with Young Boys and so if he could move to Newcastle, or elsewhere, though the Swiss club would be entitled to compensation for his development – fee to be assessed by FIFA.

Yannick Toure is rated as one of the best young strikers in Switzerland’s brightest attacking prospects and is said to be set for promotion shortly to the national Under 19 squad.

Rafa Benitez brought in a series of young players from various countries throughout last season, as he tried to improve the quality of the age groups under first team level.

Otto Huuhtanen (Finland), Mo Sangare (Liberia), Elias Sorensen (Denmark), Juanito (Spain) and Tyrique Bartlett (South Africa) were  all brought in, though things have been quiet on that front so far this season.
