The latest name linked with Newcastle United is Hassane Bande.

Only six weeks to go until the January transfer window opens and potential signings can happen.

The Belgian media report that Newcastle will have people at tonight’s Charleroi v Mechelen game, second top playing third bottom.

In the ranks of the visitors though, is a teenage striker who is getting a lot of attention.

Hassane Bande only turned 19 at the end of October but is already joint top scorer in the Belgian League with eight goals from seven starts, plus three off the bench.

The teenager is playing for relegation strugglers Mechelen as well, making his figures even more impressive, scoring eight of their 17 goals in the first 14 matches.

His promise hasn’t gone unnoticed elsewhere either and a host of clubs, as well as Newcastle, will be represented tonight.

In all competitions he has scored nine goals so far this season at a rate of one every 81 minutes and despite his tender age, made his international debut on Tuesday in a 4-0 win for Burkina Faso in a World Cup qualifier v Cape Verde,

Spotting the next rising quality goalscorer is a tricky one but here’s hoping Rafa Benitez and Newcastle United can start and get ahead of the pack.
