With impeccable timing, Joselu has unveiled a new all singing, all dancing, new personal website.

It looks attractive but arguably of little use…

Which is sadly what many of his critics have been saying with each week that goes by.

Maybe a classic case of football players needing to be saved from themselves, as Joselu launching this personal site dedicated to himself, could have been better timed than after scoring only one goal in the last 11+ hours of football for Newcastle.

Plus that goal came when a Liverpool defender kicked the ball off the striker and confused Mignolet in goal.

Joselu:

“My new website is now available!

“Here you will be able to check all my data and my personal information.”

The site is www.joselumato.com and predictably the player has had some less than positive feedback from fans and trolls alike…

Here’s a small sample:

Advertising for a transfer???’

‘Don’t need data to tell me you’re s….”

‘Wow this is unbelievable’ (guessing this reply was sarcastic…)

  • Rich Lawson

    Deluded fool !

    • Leicester Mag

Nearly as deluted as the cockwomble who thought it was a good idea to buy him. Yet another failure from the football bargain bucket we seem so keen to keep trying

      • Rich Lawson

        Poundland ?

  • Guru

Give him a break-he works hard for the team. He just ain’t good enough!

  • David2211

Our fans are genuinely obnoxious. A group who supposedly demand a team that tries, not one that wins. Yet in recent weeks the hate this guy has had had been way over the top and losing back to back Premier League games has seen the fans go beserk and questioning everything about the players, when after the Southampton/Palace games everything seemed so rosy.
Think a lot of people need to get a grip.

    • Damon Horner

Wanting a team that tries sounds good in theory but most of our fans won’t compromise on their need flt us to be winning and maximising return sadly.

    • Oooh bobbi fleckman

Very much this. Some NUFC are horrible hypocrites/

  • Dillon Tovak

Lay off the guy. He’s not brilliant but just support our players for god sake.

  • Paul Patterson

Look, he’s poor I agree, but if these comments are from genuine Newcastle fans then do the club a favour and stay away from matches in future.

  • ghostrider

He cost 5 million. He hasn’t hit the ground running in terms of scoring but has grafted hard and done a lot of what has been asked of him in other areas.
We’ve had many forwards who’ve looked half interested when it came to having to do a bit if graft for the team. At least Joselu doesn’t shirk that.

Better service with more clear cut chances and this lad could give a reasonable return.
A lot of his chances have been half chances.

    • Marveauxless

He ranks 4th for most clear cut chances missed this season in the Premier League. He also ranks in the top 10 for shots and shots on target. He’s arguably one of the best supplied strikers in the League

      • ghostrider

That’s not quite true, is it.
Statistics do not tell a whole story.
I watch the games. I see how much he grafts for the team and in my opinion 90% of what’s supplied to him are scraps and half chances with the obvious clear cut ones thrown in which he should do better with and would if he had something better to feed off.

I won’t fully blow smoke up his aris because he needs to take his fair share of the blame for not taking the small portion of genuine goalscoring chances but then again stand out goal scorers are becoming endangered because too many teams seem to be set up in some kind of cautious scientific nonsensical way.

The simple game is being turned into a game of stadium chess on grass, with the emphasis mainly on the word ‘protect’ rather than send in the infantry.

Ok I’m going a bit over the top but we need to get a real end product to our attacking on two fronts.
        1. A real reasonable quality supply to whatever striker(s).

        2. For the striker(s) to take the chances.

Keep a regular supply of one and two will look after itself…and yes, even with Joselu.

  • MichaelMaximusMoose

Never kick a guy when he`s down i say,
the lad tries but the quality isn`t there for this league

    • Geordiegiants

It’s not his fault he is shyte. The same applies to Mitro, they are both well out of their leagues. To be fair Mitro loves everything about Newcastle and embraces his life here, and Joselu doesn’t seem to be a waster. The pair of them just don’t have what it takes at this level.

      • Marveauxless

Mitrovic managed 1 goal every 2.5 games last time we were in the Premier League in a side that created ~40% fewer chances per game than the current side. He is far superior to Joselu

        • Geordiegiants

I have seen and heard all of these stats before, but he is just as poor if not worse. Why does nobody else want him if he is any good? He has been up for sale for 3 windows now.

          • hetonmag

            Correct.

          • Marveauxless

But you have no evidence to support your claim. You just keep saying “he’s bad, accept it” in spite of overwhelming evidence on the contrary. What are you basing that on?
We weren’t able to sell him in the summer as we were overvaluing him and/or unwilling to sell until an adequate replacement was found. We turned down a €15 million bid from Lyon as we wanted closer to €20 million

          • Geordiegiants

So why hasn’t he been our first choice striker then for 3 seasons? The only time any of our mangers have used him, is when they have been forced to use him because they have nobody else.

          • Marveauxless

He was first choice in 2015/16. The fact that Benitez doesn’t favour him is not evidence of lack of quality; Benitez’s career is littered with inadequate players that he put too much faith in.
At Liverpool, the likes of Babel, Aquilani, Josemi, Nunez, Morientes, Crouch, Pennant, Voronin, Riera and N’Gog where given far too much time under Benitez and should have been dropped much sooner.

          • hetonmag

            Careers also littered with trophies.

          • Geordiegiants

The list of players above is ridiculous, how many poor signings did Sir Alex make? Doesn’t mean he doesn’t know what he was doing. They just can’t get it through their heads can they?

          • hetonmag

Spot on mate every manager makes mistakes that’s human nature look at Pep last season and as you say Fergie he bought plenty of duds Obertan being one of them.

          • Geordiegiants

2015/16 there was nobody else, that’s why, what don’t you get?
A handful of our fans rate him, nobody else, no body, that’s why he has sat warming the bench for years, no body here wants him, and nobody at any other club. He isn’t good enough, if he was a decent player he would be playing for us week in week out or another club, but the game is littered with players that clubs have signed for silly money that they can’t shift on, Mitro is one of them.

          • Geordiegiants

Is that like Djemba djemba, David Bellion, Obertan, Bebe, Marc Bosnic, Taibi etc etc. Was he a poor manger that didn’t know what he was doing?

          • Marveauxless

I don’t ever recall saying Benitez was a poor manager. It is universally accepted that Ferguson made a mistake choosing O’shea and Brown over Pique likewise, choosing Cleverley over Pogba was also an error; agreeing with those opinions does not mean you think Ferguson was a poor manager.
The discussion is about whether Mitrovic is superior to Joselu. Mitrovic’s lack of game time is not evidence of his lack of ability (see Pique and Pogba); neither is other teams’ unwillingness to meet Newcastle’s high asking price, No-one wanted Eric Cantona until Leeds offered him a trial (so much so that he announced his retirement at 25 years old because of how undesirable he was). His lack of game time is purely down to the opinion of 1 man

          • Geordiegiants

            Futile

          • Geordiegiants

Who gives a flying [email protected] about any of those players listed above (mine or yours, Joselu or Mitro). Sir Alex won trophies and Benitez wins trophies. I don’t give a [email protected] about Mitro, I care about us winning games and trophies and so should you. Rafa knows what he is doing and has his reasons, that why he is a very successful manger.

    • Rich Lawson

As you say,not his fault,he’s just not up to it ! In his previous position you can’t blame him for taking the move to St James

  • Steve Pearce

    Lay off him?

He’s one of the worst strikers in our history, he couldn’t put a ball in a double size empty goal and he cheated us out of his transfer fee. “Trying” is not good enough – he should be succeeding and not labouring under the delusion that he’s our number one striker. I say send him back to Spain or Stoke or where ever in January and then his incompetence will be just a distant memory!

    • Clarko

“He’s one of the worst strikers in our history”, no he’s not, he is not even the worst striker in recent history, there is Xisco, Bridges, Kuqi, Luque, Zamblera, Ranger, De Jong, Chopra, Doumbia, Smith, I would even include Cisse and Ameobi as worse strikers than Joselu.

      • Geordiegiants

You are a bell end, but probably right in my OPINION for the first time in your life, based on OPINION.

      • hetonmag

Correct, see Steve Smith’s assessment above and not the idiot you have replied to.

      • Oooh bobbi fleckman

George Riley, frank Pingel, andreus andersen, the list goes on. Steve Pearce is an idiot.

  • Steve Smith

One of the better players on the pitch against Bournemouth. Did everything required of him in 442 alongside Gayle.

Won all but 1 of his aerial duels and recycled a lot of possession and defended from the front.

    • hetonmag

Thank god you noticed the input the lad had on the pitch he gets so much stick on here, we know he isn’t the striker we all wish for but neither is Mitro.

  • Mike

    sorry not good enuff.

  • Soldier

i`ve haven`t missed a home games this season & i`ll tell you now if he keeps his place in the long term there`s agood chance we`ll go down. his 1st touch is appalling, he can`t shoot with any accuracy, his distribution is just terrible so at the end of the day the lad is mediocre to say the least

  • Scooter

we have 3 strikers, i hope Gayle can gain some semblace of form because the other two will never hit the net on a regular basis

  • Hughie

Critics have never played as a target man or centre forward. Apart from his average goalscoring ability he is a decent target man and several of us thought he was excellent against Bournemouth linking well with Gayle. The second half went wrong because of the inability of players like Hayden Atsu, Yedlin, Ritchie and Manquillo to keep and use the ball, and Ritchie and Hayden in particular playing square or backwards as a first move. Possession is our problem at present and only Shelvey and Merino have a clue about consistent retention and creativity once we cross the halfway line. Rafa knows this– roll on January. For heavens sake give Aarons a spin Rafa –Atsu is limited and Murphy looks devoid of confidence or confused by over-coaching.

    • Damon Horner

Probably the reason he is sticking with Joselu is to make it connect.

No surprise n that the man with the best instincts in possession has been missed highly.
