Mark Lawrenson Premier League prediction table is must see for Newcastle fans
Mark Lawrenson is just one of the many clueless former players who steals a living these days with his clueless opinions.
Last season ‘Lawro’ totally embarrassed himself by going through an entire season without predicting Liverpool to lose a single match.
Coincidentally, Mark Lawrenson played a ‘few’ games for the scousers, not that this would have had any influence on his end of season predictions adding up to 27 wins, 11 draws, and 0 defeats for Liverpool – a total of 92 points.
The reality was something different, with six defeats and Liverpool ending up 16 points less than his forecasts added up to.
Interesting to see just what he has come up with where Newcastle are concerned, these have been Lawrenson’s eight predictions so far with actual score in brackets:
Newcastle 0 Spurs 2 (0-2)
Huddersfield 1 Newcastle 1 (1-0)
Newcastle 1 West Ham 1 (3-0)
Swansea 2 Newcastle 0 (0-1)
Newcastle 1 Stoke 1 (2-1)
Brighton 2 Newcastle 1 (1-0)
Newcastle 0 Liverpool 2 (1-1)
Southampton 2 Newcastle 1 (????)
So Mark Lawrenson has predicted not a single win for Newcastle in the first eight matches and not a single clean sheet.
Down below are some of his comments on Newcastle’s various matches and here is the Premier League table based on his predictions…
As you can see he has once again predicted not a single defeat for Liverpool (predicts a draw against Man Utd today).
Premier League based on Mark Lawrenson predictions:
Before Newcastle 3 West Ham 0:
“West Ham are better than the results they have got so far suggest.
“Javier Hernandez does not need many chances to score and they have other good players such as Michail Antonio and Manuel Lanzini. Andy Carroll will be good when he is fit. You just know they will be fine.”
Before Swansea 0 Newcastle 1:
“With what they have got, I can see a season of struggle ahead.
“It is going to be a real battle for them to stay up.”
Before Newcastle 1 Liverpool 1:
“I was left thinking the Magpies have got a lot of work to do to stay in the Premier League.
“I think the Reds will keep a clean sheet too because other than free-kicks and corners, the home side might not offer very much.
“I don’t see them keeping his old club quiet.”
“I don’t think the Magpies will fare so well on the south coast, however.
“Southampton are another team that have been short of goals but they deserved to get something against Stoke in their last game, and I think they will edge this one.
“Prediction: Southampton 2 Newcastle 1.”
