Newcastle’s ‘resolute’ performance on Sunday afternoon impressed Alan Shearer.

Whilst Newcastle only had 32% possession, the NUFC legend said that despite dominating the ball, the visitors were far ‘too slow in possession’.

Liverpool described as being ‘wasteful in attack and poor at the back again’.

A brilliant Shelvey pass setting up the equaliser but Klopp will be furious that they were undone so easily.

Summing up the game, Alan Shearer said ‘Liverpool didn’t have enough answers to the rigid, compact shape of Newcastle’.

Alan Shearer:

“Good point for a resolute Newcastle United.

“Liverpool too slow in possession, wasteful in attack and poor at the back again.

“From a Newcastle point of view it was a very good, solid, performance – in particular in the second half. Liverpool only really had one opportunity.

“Liverpool didn’t have enough answers to the rigid, compact shape of Newcastle. Their pace of play was too slow.

“The defence again has cost them.

“Liverpool have a long way to go if are to be challenging for the title.

“It won’t be happening this season.”

We had more than double their shots on goal. I’d say we were the wasteful ones.

    • Paul Smith

If you saw the game you wouldn’t say that. We didn’t really create a single clear cut chance other than our goal so we weren’t wasteful at all. They had far more efforts on goal… They just weren’t getting them on target. They also hit the post which doesn’t count as a shot on target but is closer than we got to a goal with any of our on target shots other than the actual Joselu goal (which was a massive fluke in itself… He got tackled and the ball bounced off his other shin and wrong footed their keeper). They had about 4 decent chances of a goal but didn’t take them.

    Sorry to hijack this Al.

Financial entrepreneur Amanda Staveley who has massive links with the Middle East was at our ground yesterday. This is an indication of interest in buying our club and I have predicted for some time now that there will be well-minted people out there who want to buy a football team – especially one with Rafa Benitez as manager and such a fine ground that could easily be expanded to a 60000 plus capacity. It will be important however that our team ethic is not spoilt by mega-money mercenary players who do not understand that there is no I in team. So lets hope the light is starting to shine at the end of the tunnel and the fat stinking bag of southern pus will slime his way out of our club never to be seen again!

    • Oooh bobbi fleckman

Easily expanded to 60,000 plus? replicating the leazes end will add a whopping 2,500 seats and the cost was said to be more than that of the Milburn and leazes combined, a minimum of £120m being £48,000 per seat. Using a rather simplistic assumption of pricing staying constant, that gives an 96 year payback on a £500 season ticket.

If Amanda Staveley is representing an investment (more likely there with the Hillsborough families reps), then I really hope she didn’t hear the current owner described as a “stinking bag of southern pus” if her clients’ come from anywhere other than NE1, they may not want to take up the challenge of NUFC for fear of being referred to in such a manner

Blabber blabber blabber – Amanda Staveley cannot “hear” my opinion of our owner as it was written down. So what if I don’t like southerners? This country is a free country and I am at liberty to express my opinion at will. But this simply does not matter to someone who moves in such exalted circles in the Middle East – and I’ve got nothing against people who live there….

        • Oooh bobbi fleckman

I just hope she didn’t come across anyone like you.

So, you don’t like southerners, how are you with Chinese people, India, middle east, far east? I’m minded of Terry Collier’s view of others.

I’ve got no problem with them – just people who don’t have an ironic sense of humour and don’t realise that this is all a wind up!

          • Oooh bobbi fleckman

So Mike Ashley simply doesn’t get your ironic sense of humour? who knew?

          • Steve Pearce

You really don’t get it do you – now shut up and let me get on with my life that is filled with purpose and meaning unlike yours. Oh I forgot you have a picture of a fat stinking piece of southern slime on your wall

          • Oooh bobbi fleckman

Hmmmm, they say she’s German but nevertheless, that no way to describe our monarch.

The problem with your posts are not that you don’t understand the word irony or humour, it’s just that they are wrong.
