Which Newcastle players have proved most popular when it comes to fans getting names on the back of replica shirts?

I must admit that a team without any real stand out stars, it is pretty difficult to guess who would be most popular.

On the face of it, none of the new signings instantly grab the attention. Obviously that can change in time and certainly Mikel Merino is promising to be a fan favourite with his contribution so far.

However, which Newcastle players have proved most popular this summer.

Our glorious leader’s Sports Direct have published a list of the 30 most popular names of players (from all clubs)  that they have put on shirts this summer.

Three feature and they are placed at 13th, 17th and 29th – the last one a pleasing surprise.

What’s the matter – are you hard up for stories?

You might as well publish the top ten colours of football boots or who has the longest laces. Now I’ll let you go back to your scintillating social life which probably consists of you sitting at home alone, staring at the wall and making quacking noises for all I know.

    Fake News Advertising…
    Don’t be a Charver…..Don’t buy from Ashley….

Why not, it’s good value and the quality isn’t bad for the sports I do.

Sports Direct on track to be ‘Poundland of sport’ says Mike Ashley

Mike Ashley, said on Wednesday it still aimed to achieve growth in core earnings of 5-15 percent in its 2017-18 financial year….. in stark contrast to Newcastle United where merchandise and advertising have declined over Ashleys misrule.

    • Oooh bobbi fleckman

Has Merchandise declined under Ashley? I thought we were more profitable now.

    Wayne Rooney – Manchester United?

If that’s a Mag error, careless. If an SD error – priceless!!

    • Leazes Ender

Last years totals Alex….a lot of mancs with a defunct shirt I think.

      • Jimblag23

If I were to buy a Newcastle shirt I’d probably get Shearer, so it’s not totally defunct.

      • Alex

I did think that, but the article does say during the ‘summer’.

I know he didn’t move until quite late, but if a load of Mancs got his name printed, then that is a tad silly. But, there you go.
