Paul Merson has cast his distorted eye over Sunday’s match at the Amex Stadium.

The Sky Sports pundit coming to another predictable…prediction for the Magpies.

Despite Newcastle winning their last three games, this is the sixth game in a row where Paul Merson has forecast that Rafa Benitez’ team won’t win.

So far we have seen predictions that Newcastle would lose to Spurs, West Ham and Swansea, with forecasted draws against Stoke and Huddersfield.

This time, Merson has gone for another draw – 1-1.

The Sky Sports pundit saying that Newcastle fans should be grateful to take that result, stating ‘they should take that all day long.

Paul Merson does give Rafa/Newcastle a pat on the back saying the Magpies ‘have done superbly to get into the top four’.

Declaring ‘Not many people saw that coming!’.

Hopefully Merson’s form continues this weekend and Newcastle prove him wrong once again.

It won’t be an easy game but Newcastle must hold every chance, especially with Brighton not convincing so far and Chris Hughton having a number of injury problems.

Paul Merson talking to Sky Sports:

“I know it’s only five games but Newcastle have done superbly to get into the top four.

“Not many people saw that coming!

“Their fans will be full of confidence and looking for another win.

“But Brighton make it difficult for opponents at the Amex.

“Man City were made to work hard and West Brom were dispatched 3-1.

“A draw would be a good result for the visitors, they should take that all day long.”

W-anchors like Merson are causing people to turn off their TVs and turn to alternatives like You-tube. No-one cares what this plonky thinks.
Until Sky wake up, their viewing figures will continue to fall.
