Slaven Bilic very honest…”Newcastle were better in every aspect of the game”

Slaven Bilic and West Ham are rock bottom of the Premier league.

Newcastle beat West Ham 3-0 and it could easily have been five or more, as NUFC dominated after a pretty even opening half hour.

Before the match Slaven Bilic looked to make a bit of capital at Rafa Benitez’ expense over the transfer situation at St James Park but he couldn’t have been more honest and up front after this defeat.

The West Ham boss declared that ‘Newcastle were better in every aspect of the game and they had simply more power and determination’.

The workrate of the home side was exemplary and after seeing his team regularly caught in possession and making mistakes, Bilic explained; ‘They forced us..we didn’t give the ball away out of the blue’.

A massive game today and Rafa Benitez and his players can be very pleased with their efforts today.

Slaven Bilic after Newcastle 3 West Ham 0:

“Very difficult afternoon.

“Newcastle were better in every aspect of the game and they had simply more power and determination.

“They were better to the second balls and in transition.

“We did some changes in the second half and looked like we could equalise but we made a big mistake.

“They forced us…we didn’t give the ball away out of the blue.

“They were more powerful in that part of the game.

“Newcastle put themselves in a position to show their quality and they did just that.

“I’m worried but not panicking – it’s still early.

“This is different to the Southampton game.

“Every club has ups and downs and only we can take ourselves out of the situation.

“Making mistakes is concerning but it doesn’t have to be that every time we make a mistake it is a goal (or a chance for the opposition), we can make up for the mistakes.”

“We have done well in the transfer window and are (still) looking for one player – sometimes one player can change a lot, but this isn’t the reason why we didn’t play good.”

“(Asked about an alleged elbow from Mitrovic on one of his players) I didn’t see it.”
