Robbie Savage has made his predictions for this upcoming season.

The player turned pundit assessing where all 20 teams will finish in the Premier League.

No major surprises with the top six (seven if you include Everton), although you may disagree that his former club Man Utd will actually come through and win the whole thing.

As for those outside the top seven, Robbie Savage has placed West Ham as the best of the rest in eighth place.

Whilst following them he has surprisingly chosen Palace to bounce from near relegation to ninth, ahead of Leicester.

At the more interesting end…Savage has gone for two of the promoted teams and the club who finished fourth bottom last season, to go down this time.

Hopefully he is right, with Watford, Brighton and Huddersfield the relegation choices.

He has Newcastle in a fairly respectable 14th spot, which most NUFC fans would more than settle for now, ahead of the likes of Stoke, Swansea and Burnley.

Robbie Savage prediction for Premier League table at end of 2017/18 season (via Daily Star):

Manchester City

Chelsea

Liverpool

Arsenal

Tottenham

Everton

West Ham

Crystal Palace

Leicester City

Bournemouth

  • Leazes Ender

..He has Newcastle in a fairly respectable 14th spot’….

RESPECTABLE!……. some Rafalution this is! Bloody shameful….. thats a relegation fight.

    • Paul Busby

Number of times whinging negative nancies have said “Rafalution”:
      345 456 445

Number of times everyone else has said it:
      30

      • Leazes Ender

The club have advertised it as such….. the chronicle has promoted it as such, Mark Douglas wrote a book about the ‘Rafalution’……

…..I never called it a ‘Rafalution’ in anything but incredulity numpty.

Try to comprehend the way in which words are used and you might understand.

        • It’s a real revolution because for the first time since Sir Bobby we actually have a top-class Manager, if the market was like it was 2-3 seasons ago we would have gotten much more players. Championship team demanding 12m for unproven young players and you know it’s not worth it.

          • Leazes Ender

I can’t be bothered with you either so I’m blocking you

          • Santii

Blocking someone because they continually make you look the brain dead Halfwit you are.

Cant hack it. what a c*nt

          • disqus_GFJ5SSXQ7o

            Boo hoo

        • Paul Busby

You’re still 100 fold ahead on the ticker

    • Marveauxless

In the past 5 years no newly-promoted team has finished higher than 10th and last season there was only 6 points between 17th place and 8th place. It’s not 1993 any more; the gulf in class between the Premier League and the Championship is enormous and no newly-promoted team can realistically expect anything more than a relegation battle in their first season

      • Leazes Ender

Newly promoted….. we’ve just yo-yoed again, we went away for a bit….. listen to that….newly promoted,…. good grief, you daft begger.

        • glassjawsh-got-banned

Discourse with Leazes is on par with shouting grievances at a church gargoyle.

        • Marveauxless

Well, given that we have been promoted in the very recent past then I guess that falls perfectly within the definition of “Newly Promoted”.
Our last relegation resulted in the loss of several key players that have not been replaced with others of equal ability.

One could make the same arguments for fellow “yo-yo”ers West Ham, Hull City, Burnley, West Brom and Norwich yet unsurprisingly they all struggled in their first seasons back in the Premier League

          • Leazes Ender

You tend to be as literal as fleckmam.

          • Lord

“Our last relegation resulted in the loss of several key players that have not been replaced with others of equal ability.”

Apart from Wijnaldum I’m struggling to think of examples. Townsend -> Ritchie and Janmaat -> Yedlin and Cisse -> Gayle.

Who else are you thinking about?

          • Mark Potter

Coloccini (at the end of his career) -> Lejeune,
Saylor (what should have been the height of his) -> Clarke
            Sameobi -> Atsu
And we have Lascelles with much more experience and Hayden to keep appearances from Colback to a minimum. And hopefully Aarons can be available for more than 3 games.

And while Wijnaldum is probably a loss, our team last year showed they knew how to dig in and get a win away from home, many times. Wijnaldum seemed completely lost when playing away, especially when asked to play centrally. The relegation team as a whole were poor, picking up very few points away. I expect more character from the current group, and better organisation. It won’t necessarily be pretty, but it will be more effective. Getting draws even against the teams in the bottom half is essential, not only to get the 1 point, but to deny your opponents 3. We didn’t do that at all under Mclaren.
And we have Medino. Hopefully we see today what the lad will offer us. But I’m hoping
            Colback -> Medino

      • Finally somebody making sense to these people! We must be allowed to build on our squad. It’s unreal we can challenge for the top 8 with teams there spending 100m and more every year, plus having proven players to begin with. We have a good squad to finish in the top 12 perhaps. We can spend much more next year from all the money we’ll receive and then we can actually challenge for the top 10.

        • Damon Horner

Exactly this. Some of our “fans” demanding more are the reason we’re constantly defending “deluded” remarks

          • Santii

I don’t defend the deluded remarks. They are true. There is a whole website dedicated to the delusion…

        • Leazes Ender

We’ve been patiently building since 1955

    • William New Carney

You seem surprised by that, maybe football is not your thing, give cricket a try ;)

      • Leazes Ender

Have you read anything I’ve said over the last twelve years?

        • glassjawsh-got-banned

Clearly you don’t understand how revolution usually works. It really doesn’t happen overnight. Seeds must be sown (and other cliches).

          • TheNutJob

99% of revolutions fail within 24 hrs
            ask Recep Tayyip Erodogan

          • Leazes Ender

Revolutions are fast…. evolutions are slow.

          • glassjawsh-got-banned

It took us 8 years to revolt from the king (plus another decade of planning beforehand). Stop talking out your rear.

          • Leazes Ender

            Keegan?

          • joe mac

            ashley ender!

          • Carlo Ancelotti

            How right you are

          • Santii

Like two ants discussing the philosophies of life…

You’s don’t have a f*cking clue what yous are talking about.

          • Leazes Ender

            What yous are talking about?

          • Carlo Ancelotti

i think he`s related to Robbie Savage

          • Santii

Haha two neanderthals grunting at each other.

          • joe mac

            ashley ender

          • Mark Potter

And Rafalutions are …? Either could be the case.

But I think if you look back to the relegation season, and see the transformation of the team when Rafa took over, then there was a revolutionary change in mentality and belief. Which he took forward into last season and reinforced with players like Ritchie with their fighting character.

You use the term to imply that this season will be a tilt on the upper echelons of the Premiership. When it is clear that is impossible without at least one or two payouts from Sky. Let’s be clear, BURNLEY!! would have had a much greater income than Newcastle last year, just because they were in the Prem. Despite us filling a 51,000 seat stadium. We can’t easily overcome this financial reality.

        • Martin

To be fair 90% of what you write is just copy and paste from the previous day.

          • Leazes Ender

Very little of what I write is ‘cut and paste’. you are thinking of fleckman.

        • joe mac

          ashley ender!

    • glassjawsh-got-banned

I suppose this is accurate considering that everyone outside of the top 7 was technically in a relegation fight last season.

    • joe mac

yawn!……please try and give one possitive comment…..unless you are ashley in disguise!,,,

    • Jimblag23

Jesus Christ reading this stream is like reading a couple of toddlers fight over the last crayon.

  • TheNutJob

    More like a Laffalution

  • Pretty much right if we don’t sign anybody else, but there’s still time now and in January. I hope Rafa just doesn’t get frustrated and quit, because he’ll be facing some really strong teams this year.

  • Carlo Ancelotti

pointless employing a master craftsman if he hasn`t got the tools

    • Santii

      Thanks for the pointless analogy!!

      • Carlo Ancelotti

thanks for confirming that you my man, are an idiot

        • Santii

Pointless stupid as f*ck analogy up your hole buddy.

          • Carlo Ancelotti

Arguing with an idiot is very time consuming & i`m afraid i haven`t got the time. Bye

          • Santii

            Bye bye snowflake.

          • glassjawsh-got-banned

            You had me until snowflake

          • Santii

            Hahaha

          • HarryHype59

You should be banned from the Mag! You lower the tone with your potty mouthed ravings.

  • Santii

Palace & West Ham jayzuz. We will finish above both of them easily.

    • HarryHype59

No we won’t! Both have far better players and WH have just spent 40m on proven EPL players!

      • Santii

No they don’t. pure triggered you haven’t i haha

        • HarryHype59

          Is “triggered” Pennywell Charva speak?

  • Leazes Ender

Well its another one to fall into line at 14th – 15th

I associate a Rafalution with AMBITION and dreary football.

Dreary football and Losses galore combined with a relegation struggle are going to be a problem for fans to stomach and be cheerful of a Rafalution at the same time.

    • Paul Patterson

So come on then, what would you like to see the club do exactly?
      We’re dying to know?

      • Damon Horner

        Silence is deafening.

    • Blaydon

Leazes must be from Sunderland the amount of negative s*#t you put on here. Yaaawn

      • Paul Busby

        Yep. Getting real tiring.
Not exactly sure who he’s talking too and why he think they still care.

        • Martin Rooney

No he’s employed by themag to get response to his utter tosh to drive up ad revenue and it works a treat. There’s a great irony that a company that makes all its money from Newcastle united and puts nothing into the club. Does so by slagging the clubs owner who put £200 million into it.

          • Santii

Haha as i have been saying an anti nufc site. They looked at talksport and thought.. They’re onto something there you know.

Scumbags of the highest order. Get out of our club you fat c*nts

          • TheFatController

Is he employed by the Mag? I just thought he had displaced anger issues ? I’d love to know which is true, as sometimes I
Really worry about his frame of mind …. and that’s not a jokey comment, I mean that.

  • Leazes Ender

The owner has pos.itioned us at Fifteenth…. normally he positions us at tenth

  • Wor Lass

Thank God for that! Cheers, Robbie.

  • Cuh736

I think Brighton will stay up. And Arsenal will be top 4

  • James

Man U ain’t winning the league. I’ll be happy with pushing for 10th.

  • Steve Pearce

In the first season back in The Premiership with limited funds this is a fair assessment. To use an analogy from my second favourite sport, drag racing, this is a “Shake down run” where the new car is tested at a lower speed to prepare it for full tilt competition later in the year. Rafa understands the need for slow and careful progress and it will take time to hit the the top ten. I’m not a serial moaner and I’d rather finish the season at 14th than blow the engine into glowing fragments going for number one spot and see the car that took so much time to build end up on the scrap heap….

  • East Durham Mag

Seems like a lot of S.D. employees on here , Fat Mike must have ordered his Muppets to get on The Mag.

    • Santii

Seems to be to many mackem c*nts on here.

      • East Durham Mag

Santii the point really is everyone has a point of view. You just resort to name calling to anyone who doesn’t share yours.

        • Santii

“Fat Mike must have ordered his Muppets”

          Haha

Yeah pretty much you total cretin. Anti Newcastle scumbag!!

          • East Durham Mag

            Well done. Troll.

          • Santii

haha you look a right f*cking mug there.

          • East Durham Mag

            You want to grow up.

          • Santii

Don’t be raging buddy. You made yourself look a total mug.

          • HarryHype59

No he doesn’t you do. Are there no summer play schemes in Penny well?

          • Santii

Now you look a complete mug aswell.

        • Mark Potter

Branding anyone who’s opinions are not the same as your own as “S.D. employees” and “Muppets” is not name calling? It looks to me like you started this conversation deliberately to wind up people = trolling.

Then the moose starts “Shyte for Brains Santi … a Puppet Muppet”. What did you expect?

          • East Durham Mag

Perhaps in part your right Mark. If you look further down at other comments branding people c**ts and that I haven’t resorted to that depth of abuse but I take your point mate.

          • Mark Potter

Yes, Santii is out of order and needs to calm down. He gets rather passionate about what he sees as the constant attacks on his club, but goes OTT. We know you are neggers, hate the club, and want it to fail, and especially want Rafa to walk, so Mackems is a valid description, mugs is not ;)

          • East Durham Mag

I was gutted when we went down Mark and have been mad about the club since I was 7,and i’m about to hit 52,but not the regime. I want Newcastle to win every game they play. I’ve known lads bet against Newcastle to make money and they did. I couldn’t put a bet on like that. Can be negative yeah that’s right but that doesn’t mean I hate the club. If your happy with the way it’s going that’s up to you. Everyone’s opinion is valid.

          • Mark Potter

Sorry to lump you in with Leazes and the moose. I’m happier with the way it’s going, let’s put it that way. I see a world class manager who is quietly building a decent team, surrounded by a chaos of noise from groups of our own fans and the southern press who would love it if he fails. I’m not saying that we should get behind the team, and never criticise. It needs to be done in the right way. We are right to question Colback and Dummett’s ability to play at this level. We are right to be concerned whether Gayle will play more than half of the season. But when we returned to the Prem last time, all of the same points were made by the neggers. We bought only one player of any note up until the end of the window – Tiote. And at about £4m, many suggested he was nothing more than a squad player. We went into that season with no Owen, Viduka or Martins and put alot of faith on a young lad who had not played the full season in the Championship, and only scored about a dozen goals, with already some questions about his fitness. I’m sure he had no Prem goals to his name. We did OK that season, even when there was a (unnecessary) change of manager and Liverpool stole Carroll away from us. Early that season we thrashed Villa and then inflicted the greatest beating we had ever given to the Mackems in my lifetime. We ended the season IIRC 15th, but should have been 12th, when we threw away a two goal lead in the final game. I’d be ecstatic if we repeated that level of performance this year, then can build for next.

          • East Durham Mag

I hope your right Mark. I know marquee signings aren’t any guarantee of success look at Michael Owen, the lack of academy players coming through and Rafas obvious doubts about Mitro make me feel we need a striker at least. When Supermac signed he stepped up a division, and nobody had heard of Andy Cole. They became legends. See what happens Sunday. Rafa knows how to set up a side and I even agree with Santii we are Spurs bogey team. Just hoping it continues.

    • MichaelMaximusMoose

Mention SD employees & Shyte for Brains Santi pops up like a Puppet Muppet
He`s a sad case that lad

      • East Durham Mag

Spot on mate. Spitting bile and getting abusive. Proper keyboard warrior.

      • HarryHype59

He gets bored in the school holidays!

  • Jimblag23

Man U top? Spurs that low?
He’s really trying to bump up talksport listening figures here.
