Rafa Benitez Nottingham Forest press conference: ‘Winning changes everything’ in dealing with negativity

The Rafa Benitez Nottingham Forest Press Conference has taken place on Tuesday lunchtime.

The United boss was asked about the negativity surrounding the club and his answer was simple…’Winning games changes everything’.

As for his team selection against Forest, the United boss says he will use his squad and that it may include at least one player from the Under 23s.

Rafa says the club are working on signing players behind the scenes and he believes the club are closer in getting some of the unwanted players out of St James Park, though he doesn’t know exactly how close that is to happening.

As for the ongoing rumours linking him with the West Ham job, Rafa was in Fawlty Towers mode – ‘I know nothing’.

First quotes from the Rafa Benitez Nottingham Forest Press Conference:

“Winning games changes everything.

“I will use the other players, maybe one player from the Under 23s too, because we have to be sure we have a squad to play this game.

You have to approach the cup competitions with ambition, and try to progress with the squad we have.

“We train very hard every day, we analyse things and try to correct things. We have belief that we will improve and be better.

“They (Forest) will pass the ball, be well organised and will press.

“In this case, we have a cup competition we will try to do well in. We have to use the squad, and try to progress.

“The players know we have to keep working hard and improve, and they are quite confident that we can do that soon.

“We have a cup competition and we will try to do well again but I will not lie…we have to use the squad we have to try and progress.

We are closer to outgoings than two days ago but still I’m not sure how close. We are working on incomings as well behind the scenes.

(Asked about West Ham job rumours) “I know nothing.”
