Steve McClaren has found another job, five months after being sacked by Derby County for the second time in under two years.

After being overlooked for a number of jobs in the Championship, the one time Newcastle Head Coach has turned up in Israel.

Steve McClaren will work with Jordi Cruyff, who played for Manchester United when McClaren was assistant to Ferguson.

Maccabi Tel Aviv were league runners up last season but went down 3-0 at home to Beitar Jerusalem on Sunday at home, in their first match of the season.

Announcing Steve McClaren as a ‘Coaching Consultant’, Mitch Goldhar, the owner of the club, said he was ‘delighted to add a person of his calibre’.

Steve McClaren:

“I have huge respect for such a well-known club, both in Israel and in Europe.

“I intend to help Jordi and the players achieve success for the fans this season.”

Mitch Goldhar – Maccabi Tel Aviv owner:

Steve McClaren has a wealth of knowledge and is vastly experienced at the highest levels of European football.

“We are delighted to add a person of his calibre to our staff on a coaching consultant role.”
