Jamie Redknapp has selected one Newcastle star in his best 11 players of this weekend.

Some great games and performances in the Premier League and despite Liverpool smashing Arsenal 4-0 on Sunday, they only have the same number of players in Redknapp’s team.

Matt Ritchie is the United player selected.

The Scottish winger gave a lung bursting performance as he led by example, Newcastle pressurising West Ham all over the pitch and forcing mistakes.

Ritchie was also the choice of Newcastle fans as man of the match in our player ratings (see here), as well as being selected by BBC Sport’s Garth Crooks in his team of the week.

Two former Newcastle players also make the Jamie Redknapp team.

Fraser Forster keeping a clean sheet for Southampton at Huddersfield whilst Gini Wijnaldum played a full part in an excellent attacking display from Liverpool.
