Photo – Newcastle fan jumps off pub roof, despite suspected broken heels still makes Preston match!
Preston 1 Newcastle 1 – Saturday 22 July 3pm
It was all square in Newcastle’s second friendly of the season but off the pitch there was only one winner.
A crowd of 7,380 turned up to watch Preston 1 Newcastle 1 but over 40% of the attendance was provided by the visitors, with around 3,000 travelling supporters.
Newcastle started quite brightly and Mitrovic scored after only 8 minutes but not the greatest game as it went on.
Preston coming more and more into the game and equalising just after the half hour mark.
Then just like Hearts, the second-half became a bit of a non-event with no further goals and countless substitutions, which simply disrupted the match.
Once again on the black and white side of things, Rafa Benitez once again used 22 players, including three goalkeepers with no apparent injuries….?
Before the match though, one Newcastle fan got himself noticed.
The local Preston police posting a picture of one Newcastle supporter at the game (see below).
