Impressive: Fan channels his love of Newcastle United and generosity to the people of Ghana
After a productive year on loan, Christian Atsu signed on permanently in May, however this is not the only link with Ghana that Newcastle United have now.
Toon fan Richard Hall took it upon himself to appeal for donations of Newcastle United replica kit from fellow supporters and it produced an impressive response.
Richard has now moved the various pieces of NUFC kit on to the intended recipients and as you can see below, a small corner of Ghana is now forever Newcastle United.
A great initiative and as Richard Hall says below, we in the West have so much and spreading some joy further afield is surely a no-brainer.
You can follow him on Twitter @toonut68 and he will be returning to Ghana in the Autumn with the intention of kitting out more new Newcastle fans with shirts, boots and footballs, so keep an eye out for an opportunity to donate.
Some great images below but you do have to feel a little bit sorry for the poor bloke on the left who got stuck with an England rugby top!
Richard Hall reacting to an article about him on Ghana Soccer Net:
“It was my pleasure to go to Ghana and spread some joy, many people donated the tops after Facebook appeals from me so I have many people to thank.
“We are very fortunate in the UK and I wanted people to understand that in Ghana people struggle daily but football gives joy to all.
“I will be back in November to give out boots and jerseys and new footballs in Western region N’yame Adam.”
