Kevin Keegan once again leads Newcastle into battle v Sunderland…at Cricket
Kevin Keegan is returning to coach Newcastle once again in a total one-off.
The legendary Magpies manager will take charge of a Newcastle team against Sunderland opposition managed by Peter Reid.
The only difference being that this will be on the cricket pitch!
Durham CCC have revealed that Sunday 20 August (Gates open 12 noon and starts 2.30pm) will see the Emirates host its first ever Newcastle v Sunderland cricket match as part of the Paul Collingwood testimonial year.
The match will also be raising funds for the Graham Wylie Foundation, which helps improve the lives of vulnerable children and young people across the north east.
It will be a T20 (20 overs per side) format and two ‘star-filled’ sides will face each other – black & white v red & white.
‘After 21 years of cricket for Durham and England, Paul Collingwood has made more appearances for his home county than anyone – 201 – and scored more centuries (22). He made his debut in 1995, scoring 91 in his maiden first class innings in 1996.
Make sure you don’t miss out on celebrating Colly’s outstanding contribution to Durham County Cricket Club and witness some of the finest, past and present, Durham and England cricket stars in a fun-filled afternoon at Emirates Riverside.
The match – sponsored by Infiniti Newcastle and M24Seven – is also supporting and raising funds for the Graham Wylie Foundation that does incredible work to improve the lives of vulnerable children and young people across the region.
