The international break seems to have worked the trick for Rafa Benitez.

Two weeks without competitive matches has been of benefit, with the United boss naming four players as fit to face Wigan.

Both Grant Hanley and Daryl Murphy were forced to bow out of their international squads with injuries, missing World Cup qualifiers.

Rafa confirming though that both are now fully recovered from their respective ankle and calf injuries.

Hanley is set to stay in alongside Jamaal Lascelles, with Ciaran Clark still not ready to return.

Daryl Murphy started against Birmingham in the last game as Dwight Gayle had been feeling the ongoing effects of his injury suffered in January at Brentford and came back against Villa in February, only to subbed after half an hour when not feeling right.

On the bench against Birmingham, Gayle is in line to start tomorrow with Rafa Benitez saying that he looks back to his best and has trained for these past two weeks with no problems.

Isaac Hayden picked up an injury against Derby in early February and has been a big miss – but Rafa confirmed he is also now available to play, hopefully he will go back in alongside Jonjo Shelvey.

We will not get a better opportunity to win our first silverware come May by putting Wigan and the remaining 4 home games to the sword. It will be a big advantage to us.

I`d like to see Hayden partner Jack in midfield and allow Jonjo to push forward and feed the likes of Gayle, Atsu and Ritchie. We should go nap against this lot and lay a marker down to the likes of Brighton and Huddersfield.

Go nap, Wor Lass? Haven’t heard that expression for about 40 years. Does that mean we win 5-0 or has my memory failed again?

      • Wor Lass

Trying to win all 5 tricks in a game of “nap” – going for broke and crushing the opposition! Sounds like the sort of thing we ought to be doing.

This is it, next 2 home games starting with Wigan must be the point where we put the opposition to the sword and follow up each of the remaining 3 home games in the same fashion.
It is now up to the lads on the pitch to grab this opportunity with an open mind and win this promotion battle.
Get in and finish it off, grab the first piece of silver ware for Benitez and the supporters come May.
