Rafa Bentez confirms 4 Newcastle players now fit again to face Wigan

The international break seems to have worked the trick for Rafa Benitez.

Two weeks without competitive matches has been of benefit, with the United boss naming four players as fit to face Wigan.

Both Grant Hanley and Daryl Murphy were forced to bow out of their international squads with injuries, missing World Cup qualifiers.

Rafa confirming though that both are now fully recovered from their respective ankle and calf injuries.

Hanley is set to stay in alongside Jamaal Lascelles, with Ciaran Clark still not ready to return.

Daryl Murphy started against Birmingham in the last game as Dwight Gayle had been feeling the ongoing effects of his injury suffered in January at Brentford and came back against Villa in February, only to subbed after half an hour when not feeling right.

On the bench against Birmingham, Gayle is in line to start tomorrow with Rafa Benitez saying that he looks back to his best and has trained for these past two weeks with no problems.

Isaac Hayden picked up an injury against Derby in early February and has been a big miss – but Rafa confirmed he is also now available to play, hopefully he will go back in alongside Jonjo Shelvey.
