Sky Sports pundit predicts wins for 5 of the top 6 in Championship

Another weekend of intrigue at the top of the Championship and David Prutton has given his predictions.

The Sky Sports pundit has forecast victories for 5 of the top 6…

This is how the Championship top of the table looks before this weekend’s games:

This is what David Prutton has had to say about Wolves v Newcastle:

David Prutton talking to Sky Sports:

“There’s an opinion that when you’re the home team you have to go after the game but Wolves will need to be solid against Newcastle.

“As hit and miss as Paul Lambert’s side can be, I’m backing them to get a draw against the promotion pace-setters.”

Prutton went for Newcastle to draw in their last two matches and fluked the QPR one with that late own goal, though he missed out when Derby saw DeAndre Yedlin head Darren Bent’s effort off the line in the closing stages last weekend.

Wolves have beaten both Liverpool and Stoke in the FA Cup but lost to Burton in their last Championship game, summing up David Prutton’s ‘hit and miss’ comment.

They had a ‘hit’ when beating Newcastle at St James Park this season, so it’s down to Newcastle’s players to ensure there is no repeat.

These are his predictions this weekend for the top six and as you can see, he forecasts wins for all five other clubs and a 2-2 draw for Newcastle at Wolves.

Friday (tonight)

Sheff Wed 2 Birmingham 1 (7.45pm)

Saturday

Brighton 2 Burton 1 (3pm)

Leeds 2 Cardiff 0 (3pm)

QPR 1 Huddersfield 2 (3pm)

Reading 1 Barnsley 0 (3pm)

Wolves 2 Newcastle 2 (5.30pm)

This is how the Championship top six would look if Prutton’s predictions became reality:

64 Brighton (GD +24) Played 30

63 Newcastle (+34) Played 30

59 Reading (+6) Played 31

58 Huddersfield (+6) Played 30

57 Leeds (+14) Played 31

52 Sheff Wed (+7) Played 30
