Alan Pardew backed for the Rangers job
Alan Pardew has been backed to be the next Manager at Rangers.
With chaos reigning over the Mark Warburton debacle, the bookies have shortened their odds on the former Newcastle/Palace manager being the next to take the hot seat.
Sacked by Palace after proving to be the worst manager of all 92 English clubs throughout 2016, Alan Pardew finds himself third favourite at the moment.
Backed in to 4/1, Pardew has two ahead of him with shorter odds.
Graeme Murty was appointed development coach at Ibrox only in August and was then given the caretaker’s job in the wake of the departure of Warburton – Murty is the 5/4 favourite.
Just behind him in the betting is former Rangers Manager Aex McLeish at 6/4.
These are the lowest odds on each candidate via various bookmakers, the first three in the betting and then selected ones with a Newcastle connection…and Harry Redknapp.
Whether there is any serious chance of Alan Pardew heading to Scotland is an unknown, as is his past relationship with Mike Ashley – whether that would be potentially a help or a hindrance to him getting the job.
Next Manager of Rangers odds
5/4 Graeme Murty

25/1 Alan Irvine
25/1 Mark McGhee
25/1 Ian Cathro
28/1 Graeme Souness
