It was Bradford 0 Newcastle 6 as NUFC’s young stars took the home team apart.

The Magpies’ Under 23 (reserves) travelled for a Central League Cup match on Wednesday afternoon and found it to their liking, after tuning up with a 7-0 friendly demolition of Burnley on Thursday.

That day Tom Heardman hit a hat-trick and after just 10 minutes he was on the scoresheet today, teammate Luke Charman making it 2-0 before half-time as United dominated.

Just past the hour mark Yasin BenEl-Mhanni made it 3-0 only seconds after coming off the bench, before Heardman gave the scoreline a more realistic look when adding a fourth with 15 minutes remaining.

The final 10 minutes saw Tom Heardman grab his hat-trick and El-Mhanni grab a second, before Heardman missed out on what would have been his fourth and Newcastle’s seventh in the final stages.
