Rafa Benitez is now waiting for answers on three transfer offers that he has made.

The Newcastle boss has approached three Premier League clubs for the trio of players, as he looks to up the quality at St James Park in the remaining four months of the season.

The Chronicle state as fact that loan deal offers have now been made to Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea), Fabian Delph (Manchester City) and Tom Cleverley (Everton).

They also report that Rafa is looking for a winger to supplement his current options and say that there was interest expressed in Gerard Deulofeu but that the chances of this deal happening were instantly knocked on the head. AC Milan and Premier League clubs are also showing strong interest in the former Barcelona winger.

The level of player that is being talked about is encouraging but finding players who are prepared, even if hopefully temporarily, to drop a division must be difficult.

To illustrate that fact, the likes of Burnley, West Brom and other Premier League clubs are also being linked with the three players Newcastle have made loan offers for.

The newspaper claims that James McCarthy was also a Newcastle target but Everton have rejected any advances for this midfielder, hardly surprising when he started three of the scousers’ Premier League matches in December, whereas Cleverley has made only one league start in the last nine weeks and is surplus to requirements.
