Newcastle finding it a lot easier to get players out on loan instead of incoming – Two more confirmed
It is day 12 of January and Newcastle United are still to announce any incoming players in this window.
Rafa Benitez has indicated that loan deals are possibly/probably the best route in bringing players of a good enough standard in.
However, so far it is improving far easier to loan players out, rather than convincing outsiders to join Newcastle United.
Tom Cleverly is now taking a medical before completing an initial loan to Watford later today, whilst Rafa Benitez has sent out another two of his younger players on loan.
Ivan Toney has upgraded from a relegation fight in League One with Shrewsbury, to a promotion battle with Scunthorpe who are currently second top in the third tier.
In the first half of this season, the young striker managed seven goals, 12 yellow cards, 1 red, and three separate suspensions for Shrewsbury.
Also completing his latest loan move today is Alex Gilliead.
The young winger was at Carlisle last season and then Luton Town, who were fighting for promotion from League Two.
He has moved up a division and joined Bradford until the end of the season, the Bantams currently fourth and seven points behind Ivan Toney and Scunthorpe.
