Newcastle only 1 of top 8 not to make January Transfer Window signing yet

With a week to go until the January transfer window closes (Tuesday 31 January), Newcastle United are now the only one of the top eight clubs in the Championship who haven’t strengthened their team/squads yet.

Brighton brought in Chelsea’s Fikayo Tomori on Monday, the player on loan to the south coast club until the end of the season.

In all, 36 players have been signed by Championship clubs since the beginning of the month and Tomori’s signing now means that 10 players have been recruited by the seven other teams in that top eight.

Of the 17 second tier clubs to bring anybody in, Birmingham have been most active with five, whilst relegation threatened Bristol City, Wigan and Burton have signed 11 players between them.

These are the signings so far, as published by BBC Sport, the number of players signed by each club, then the 36 signings listed day by day throughout January.
