Confirmed Newcastle team v Rotherham: 7 changes as Murphy, Perez play and Barlaser, Ameobi on bench
The Newcastle team v Rotherham has just been named.
Back in Championship action, Rafa Benitez names a more recognisable side than the one that sent United through to the FA Cup fourth round on Wednesday night.
Jonjo Shelvey makes his first Championship appearance in five weeks, last playing in the league when Newcastle won at Burton pre-Christmas.
Seven changes to the team and the likes of Clark, Hayden and others back in the starting line-up.
Have to say though that options on the bench don’t look too reassuring if we need a goal!
Interesting to see Rotherham have left star player and top scorer Danny Ward on the bench, with a deal to sell him reported to be imminent.
Newcastle United:
Darlow, Yedlin, Lascelles, Clark, Dummett, Hayden, Ritchie, Shelvey, Gouffran, Perez, Murphy
Subs:
Sels, Sterry, Haidara, Lazaar, Hanley, Barlaser, Ameobi
