Some surprising comments from Nottingham Forest fans after defeat at Newcastle – Entertaining

Some interesting comments from Nottingham Forest fans before, during and after Friday night’s defeat at St James Park.

With such a controversial match only four weeks earlier, that was always going to drive much of the debate surrounding this return fixture.

Whilst there are some predictable anti-Newcastle points scoring comments, it is quite surprising how the majority react to the sending off.

Most Nottingham Forest fans appearing to blame the player for what happened, rather than the officials.

No doubt they (Forest fans) will probably claim this is evidence of them taking such decisions on the chin better than Newcastle supporters, it is probably a lot more to do with the fact that the bigger picture sees their supporters with total hatred of the club’s owners, as well as a lot of dislike/scepticism regarding their players, as well as a big split on the talents of their manager.

Comments from Nottingham Forest fans via their top message board Forest Forum:

Funny coz when I think of Scousers or Geordies I always think of curly haired toss pots like Sid the Sexist or Souness – it must be genetic.’

‘The fact all of Newcastle’s bench would walk into our first team gives us all the perspective we need.

Montanier has no chance.’

‘Ritchie diving again. Hopeless. Absolutely hopeless.’

‘Yeah, but Lansbury is the only cheater. They wouldn’t ever want a cheater like him to play for their club.’

‘2-2 please, Forest. Just to see a few geordies cry, best entertainment of 2016.’

‘We can still get this something out of this game, we are not finished yet.’

‘I try not to get too wound up about football but this has me absolutely desolate. Every time we take a step forward we take 2 steps back.

‘I actually feel for PM and some of the team. We had a game plan which was working away at the best team in the league and we are let down again by moronic player.’

‘Nothing to do with the Ref.

4th Official has given it for Mills throwing the ball at the Newcastle player, which is a second yellow card, after he’d been booked a minute before for going through the back of one of their forwards.’

And what is Vlad doing for the goal there??’

‘They had a very valid point at our ground that we were lucky but if we get something here they have nothing to say.’

‘It’s a shame really. We were doing so well till the sending off, it all fell apart after that and it was game over.

First goal a bit of a freak one, having said that whoever it hit in the wall has jumped to the side which is criminal for me. What is quite going on in the keepers mind positioning wise for the 2nd I don’t know! It’s poor that it got to that point as well really. 3rd it just lands perfectly for them.

The sending off scenario I don’t know about massively. I was too busy going a bit mental that the game had stopped when we were getting on top and next I saw ref talking to the 4th official, knew what was coming as soon as I saw that. Was it literally a double booking though? Or did he get booked and then booked again after talking to the 4th official? All confusion for me but that’s what’s swung the game so I’m going to be intrigued to watch it back.

I was impressed all in all. We defended well, we looked solid, battled well and were deserving of a point at least prior to the red. We got a result we should have expected though and gave a good account of ourselves against the best in the league. Decent following as well.’

‘Mills is at fault today not the manager. We have lots of injuries and we were holding our own so what’s going on in his stupid f***ing head. He’s no respect for himself.’

‘Amazing that some people are surprised that we lost against Newcastle.’

‘The game was going to be a struggle no matter what time we put out. Britt and Henri were both fit in the CG game and we still looked like we were going to lose.

Newcastle’s team massively underperformed last year and got themselves relegated, but they’ve come down to the Champ with a squad that wouldn’t look out of place mid-table in the Premierleague.

People can say we were in it before Mills got sent off but come on, we all know we wouldn’t of been able to keep them out all game.’

‘Did anyone expect to get anything from Newcastle this season? We’ve got 3 more points than anyone would have thought.’

‘Atrocious starting eleven, the players did us proud and held their own until the sending off, and then it all went to pot.’

‘I would suggest that holding Newcastle to a 1-1 at halftime proves the starting 11 wasn’t atrocious. It’s fairly obvious isn’t it?’

‘Mills is a disgrace, he should be embarrassed with himself. How many games has he played as a professional? It’s not even as if he got a bum decision that annoyed him, like Mancienne. The tackle was a yellow all day. Moron.’

‘They (Newcastle) will feel justice done and will rejoice tonight and much further probably.

‘At least we are consistent, it is like there’s some rule that states that we must have a second half collapse, concede at least two goals, and have one player sent off every game.’

The result would have been different if Mills had stayed on.’

‘The fat Spanish waiter is helped slightly with his extra massive premier league squad & £100m relegation prize money.

‘I doubt Rafa would have us much higher than we are now. Infact, I doubt many could.

Bottom line is our squad is cack. Looks at PM’s record everywhere else he has been; he has never failed as a manager in over 10 years. Doesn’t that tell people it’s us that is the problem.’

‘They (Forest owners) will get serious if we lose against Barnsley.

I didn’t expect anything from today and anybody that did is deluded.

Barnsley is made more difficult now due to the stupidity of Matt Mills though, another CB that can’t be selected.’

‘Forest fans still singing. They deserve medals.’

Didn’t expect anything from today but we at least got 1 good half.

Matt Mills let the team, manager and fans down today. Didn’t think we would win it if he was on the pitch but we would have had a better chance of getting something from the game.’

‘It’s gonna be a long season at this rate, PM just doesn’t have the experience for the Championship.’

‘Neither does the fat Spanish waiter and he isn’t doing too bad.’

‘I am surprisingly chipper after this result. I expected us to get blitzed and to be fair we are only losing with 10 men and countless players missing so not worth reading too much into this result.’

‘At the end of the game, when he gives his interview I want, more than anything, for Montanier to talk to the interviewer and say ‘We came and gave it our best go, and we were in it, but the stupidity of one of our own players got himself sent off and we were always up against it at that point. Having said that the best team on the night won and we can have any complaints.

‘Newcastle’s spending completely dwarfs any other club in this league.’

‘Dwight Gayle, easily the biggest diver and play actor in English football. Good striker, complete cheat.’

‘The fact they went in drawing to this lineup is a crime in itself.’

‘They can’t celebrate too much if they win this league. they let wally spend 70m last season and they’ve had 50m quids worth of talent come through the door this season

They’ve literally spent about 120m quid on players, yes they’ve sold about 50m quids worth of talent as well but there spending and outgoings is that of a champions league club, its a disgrace there in this league in the first place.

‘Newcastle have spent an absolute fortune on their squad and anything but promotion is a disgrace imo, I hope they fail big time lol.’
