Steve McClaren and Henri Lansbury grab top awards
Henri Lansbury and Steve McClaren have picked up the top awards for November.
A fitting end to a ‘back down to earth’ fortnight for United fans, sees the manager who got Newcastle relegated and the player who ‘won’ the three points last Friday, recognised for their achievements.
Steve McClaren picking up the Championship Manager of the month award, whilst Lansbury is handed the player one.
McClaren picked up his award thanks to three wins out of three last month, preferred to Reading’s Jaap Stam who also picked up maximum points.
Meanwhile, our new best mate Henri scored the first hat-trick of his career in a 5-2 away win at Barnsley, which no doubt sealed his success.
All players/managers that were nominated are listed below.
November Manager of the Month nominations
Steve McClaren (Derby County) – Nine points from nine
‘McClaren has reaped the rewards of a stunning month by making the list with the phrase ‘never go back’ clearly meaning nothing to the former England boss.
‘McClaren has breezed back into Derby with a swagger that his team has adopted, picking up nine points from a possible nine in the month.’
Jaap Stam (Reading) – Nine points from nine
Steve Bruce (Aston Villa) – Seven points from nine
Owen Coyle (Blackburn Rovers) Six points from six
November Player of the Month nominations
Tom Ince (Derby County)
Steve Sidwell (Brighton)
Tomasz Kuszczak (Birmingham City)
Henri Lansbury (Nottingham Forest)
‘Lansbury can reflect on a dazzling month, excelling particularly in the 5-2 win at Barnsley with the first hat-trick of his career.’
