Nottingham Forest could be missing 11 players for team selection v Newcastle
The keenly anticipated Newcastle v Nottingham Forest match could see a number of key figures missing.
Jonjo Shelvey will of course be missing for the home side as he serves the second match of his five game suspension, whilst the likes of Aarons and Gamez are long-term injured.
Rafa Benitez hasn’t revealed any further injuries from Monday night’s match but won’t be taking a risk with anybody carrying a knock, as the trip to Blackburn quickly follows on Monday afternoon.
However, Friday’s visitors have real problems ahead of the match.
With only one point from 12 since the shambolic refereeing performance that gifted them three points against Newcastle, the last thing they needed was more players ruled out.
However, in their latest defeat (2-1 at Huddersfield), Forest lost Ben Osborn to injury and Michael Mancienne to a last minute sending off.
The visitors hope that the influential Ben Osborn recovers after being forced off against Huddersfield on Monday, whilst Damien Perquis is touch and go after having surgery to his jaw.
Star striker Britt Assombalonga was a second half substitute on Monday but the Nottingham Post say they understand he still isn’t fit enough to start.
These are the 11 who could all be missing, with Henri Lansbury sadly amongst those not available for this rematch.
Ben Osborn – Knee injury
Britt Assombalonga – Still not at full fitness
Michael Mancienne -Suspended
Daniel Pinillos – Knee surgery
Damien Perquis – Jaw surgery
Lica – Minor strain
Henri Lansbury – Hamstring injury
Chris Cohen – Groin injury
Matty Fryatt – Achilles problem
Danny Fox – Unspecified
Armand Traore – Unspecified
