The results of the Newcastle v Sheffield Wednesday player ratings.
Newcastle fans were spoilt for choice when it came to assessing who NUFC’s weakest link(s) had been on Monday night.
Four of the starting eleven rating under 4.0, with Mohamed Diame rock bottom (3.3).
He was joined by the pair on the left hand side, Yoan Gouffran (3.5) and Paul Dummett (3.8), plus returning midfielder Jack Colback (3.6).
Faring little better and still ranked at under 5.0, were Vurnon Anita (4.6), Isaac Hayden, Matt Ritchie and Dwight Gayle – the trio all scoring 4.8.
On the positive side, Karl Darlow was unsurprisingly way out in front with a rating of 8.8 – the goalkeeper actually maybe deserving more for some stunning saves.
As usual Ciaran Clark was easily Newcastle best defender with a mark of 6.2, whilst Jamaal Lascelles was a distant third (5.2).
A special mention for the subs. Christian Atsu came on and gave a lively display that earned him a rating of 6.1, whilst Mitrovic was a very mediocre/poor 4.7 in his 17 minutes on the pitch. However, it was the truly shocking Ayoze Perez (2.6) who was the very worst of the worst on the night.
