Surely Newcastle fans are better than this…
A lot of Newcastle fans forums etc seem to be littered in the last few weeks with ‘let’s all laugh at a certain side” or ‘no way would they come straight back up’.
Newcastle United got relegated due to being a badly run club and in particular, having a rotten transfer policy. We all know what could have been, but unfortunately it is what it is, and we are stuck with it.
Then by some miracle we got Rafa and even better, managed to keep him despite being relegated.
Now he has control and is running the team/club how it should be, I for one – like thousands others, enjoy going to games once again and are loving the ride that we are on. I don’t want to get off any point soon…but the one thing that gets me at the minute, is now the endless gloating about Sunderland and Villa.
I know it’s human nature to laugh and mock at times but…
The article on The Mag other day entitled ‘Open letter of apology to the other championship clubs’ – as far as I’m concerned it was embarrassing.
Is this what some Newcastle fans/writers have resorted to?!!
The likes of the Chronicle are no better, as that just seems to be full of the same rubbish every other day.
We have had a good season up to now but we have 30 plus games to go, not 3!!
This season is about us, and us only, as a club a team as fans.
Let others fall and fail around us, whatever division they are in. Many fans mock the Mackems and others for being more interested in us but you know what…they must be laughing every time they come on and there is an article relating to them!
We are in a good place as a club at the minute and the fan loyalty is never in doubt, nor will it ever be, but can we just concentrate on us getting over the line. Getting back in the Premier League without the possibility of ending up with egg on our faces if it didn’t happen at the first time of asking.
Rafa Benitez and his approach is spot on. One game at a time and nothing more: no panic, not worrying about what others are doing…just US!
