Steve Harper takes on Ambassador role
After 20 years at Newcastle United, Steve Harper eventually left St James Park in June 2013.
A bonus of two years at Hull City followed, with the former United keeper making 23 appearances.
We then had a surprise season last year, when he provided cover to the two main keepers at Sunderland.
Life then came a full circle, with Steve Harper returning to St James Park in August this year as Academy Goalkeeping Coach.
Now it has been revealed that the popular ex-goalkeeper is giving a little bit extra back to the game.
Harper taking on a role as ambassador for the Northumberland FA.
“If there’s anything I can do to promote Northumberland FA’s key messages and values, I will.
“It does lots of fantastic work in what is a very large region and hopefully I will be able to help them continue their excellent work.”
