The predicted Newcastle team v Leeds

Here is the predicted Newcastle team v Leeds.

At his Friday lunchtime press conference, Rafa Benitez announced that all of his first team squad were available for selection, with the exception of ACL injury victim Rolando Aarons.

So who will be the 11 selected for today’s 1.15pm kick-off?

Pretty easy to tick off a number of positions, with Karl Darlow, Paul Dummett and Clark & Lascelles surely set to continue.

Making up the defence, DeAndre Yedlin has played and impressed in recent games so I fancy his energy to get up and down the right hand side  will be utilised by Rafa once again. A couple of disastrous results for the USA but good news for Newcastle fans as Yedlin only got 16 minutes of football, so will be desperate to get back into the action.

Similarly, Matt Ritchie only got the last eight minutes of Scotland’s 3-0 defeat at Wembley, so I expect he and Yoan Gouffran to get the job on either side of the pitch, Christian Atsu unlucky to miss out.

I the middle, Jonjo Shelvey will surely continue in the middle after challenging his misconduct charge, maybe a toss up as to whether Colback or Hayden will be selected alongside him, but I fancy Hayden’s greater mobility to get the nod against a Leeds side containing a lot of youthful energy.

As usual, up front grabs the most attention.

Mitrovic has the shirt and the recent form and goals, so even without the assault on  Dwight Gayle in Liverpool, I think the Serbian must got the sole striker role. Gayle not having played any competitive football for 29 days now after a minor knock.

In the support role, looks probably a toss up between Ayoze Perez and Mohamed Diame.

Once again, with it likely to be a frantic pace at least for the first hour or more, I think Diame’s greater stamina and pace will be chosen.
