Newcastle United have confirmed that all 2,950 tickets that became available at 10am on Tuesday morning for the Hull v Newcastle live TV beamback, have now gone.

On top of those, the club revealed that they then made a further 1,700 available in other parts of St James Park but they have all gone as well.

Guessing a fair few Newcastle fans didn’t get much work done this morning, as once again the club’s telephone system and ticket website proved not fit for purpose.

Using the phone, many fans would get so far and then suddenly be cut off, whilst trying to get tickets online was like competing in the Crystal Maze only with no obvious solution, as after logging on and choosing the Hull match, supporters regularly finding there was no option to actually choose tickets with the drop down boxes not working.

A total of 4,650 places free tickets for the TV showing were snapped up, which when added to the 2,474 who bought tickets for the actual game, means that a total of 7,124 Newcastle fans will actually see the game ‘live’.

This TV screening follow the Championship one last month of the 2-0 win at Barnsley.

That screening went off pretty well, the only drawbacks being you couldn’t hear the commentary and there was an annoying DJ shouting on before the match kicked off.

Shame that Hull gave such a small allocation but good on the club for providing this TV beamback.

Official Newcastle United Announcement on Friday 11 November:

Newcastle United supporters who missed out on tickets for this month’s EFL Cup quarter-final tie at Hull can watch a free live beam back of the game at St. James’ Park.

The club’s 2,474 allocation quickly sold out but the tie, which kicks off at 7.45pm on Tuesday, 29th November, will be shown live in the stadium’s NINE Bar, Terrace Bar and Leazes Sports bar.

Entry to the beam back will be strictly by ticket only and open only to supporters aged 18 or over.

A total of 2,950 beam back tickets will be made available, with 1,400 tickets for NINE Bar available first.

Once they have been issued, 800 tickets will be made available for the Terrace Bar and then a further 750 for the Leazes Sports Bar.

Tickets will be available from 10am on Tuesday, 15th November at a maximum of four per person.

Tickets are free of charge when obtained in person from NINE Sports Bar. Online and telephone sales are also available for free but will be subject to a booking fee of £1 per transaction.

Doors will open from 5pm and supporters are advised to arrive early to secure their place.
