Aleksandar Mitrovic announces ‘I feel great’
Aleksandar Mitrovic has declared that he feels in ‘good shape’ for both club and country.
The striker has scored four goals in his last four games for Serbia, whilst at Newcastle he has scored four goals in his last three.
Little wonder Mitrovic now says ‘I feel great’ after some troubled times in both league and international football.
An embarrassingly bad Euros (non-)qualification group saw Serbia fail badly for France 2016, with regular stories of trouble behind the scenes and the country’s football fans sick of both results and behaviour.
However, now sitting top of Group D with seven points from three games, Mitrovic says that their performances are ‘showing we deserve the trust of the nation’.
Ahead of the Republic of Ireland only on goal difference and two points ahead of Wales, it looks a massive game in Cardiff on Saturday.
Even more interesting for Newcastle supporters as Mitrovic could be up against Paul Dummett playing at centre-back.
“I think we have a team that can win against Wales. We will try to do it and the aim is of course three points.
“I feel great, in good shape. I hope to continue (in this form) and that will help the team in Wales.
“Our games are showing that we deserve the trust of the nation.
“If we play as a team and if we do what the Manager asks of us, there shouldn’t be a problem
“Wales is not only (Gareth) Bale, they have a lot of good quality.
“We need to really pay attention to Allen and Ramsey”
“Tadic is a great master and it really is easy playing next to him
“Just let Tadic steer us through the match in Cardiff and pick the passes as only he knows how.”
