The Rotherham v Newcastle match is played three weeks on Saturday (1 October).

The South Yorkshire club now reporting that they have less than 400 tickets still on sale for the home sections, with it unlikely that any will go on general sale (***see statement below).

This has coincided with Newcastle United announcing that the away tickets have now gone on sale (details below).

Official Newcastle United announcement:

‘Tickets for Newcastle United’s Sky Bet Championship away game at Rotherham United are now on sale to season ticket holders with 100 or more loyalty points.

On Saturday, 1st October (3pm kick-off), Rafa Benitez’s Magpies travel to the New York Stadium – a ground they have never visited before, as it was only opened four years ago and the sides have not met since February 1993.

Season ticket holders with 100 or more loyalty points can now secure their seat. The points threshold will drop to 75 points on Tuesday (13th September) and a further announcement will be made, subject to availability, on Thursday (15th September).

Tickets are priced at £23 for adults, £13 for over-60s, full-time students and 18-21 year-olds, £8 for 13-17 year-olds, and £6 for under-13s.

Fans who wish to travel to this fixture are advised to apply for tickets as early as possible so that the Club can work with Rotherham United to service demand.

Supporters who buy concessionary tickets are advised that they should carry ID with them at the match. Any supporter purchasing at the incorrect age band risks non entry on matchday as upgrading at the visiting club is not necessarily permitted on the day.

Age bands away from home vary on a game-by-game basis and do not necessarily mirror your age band held at Newcastle United. It is essential that the correct age band is selected at the time of purchase to prevent any disappointment on the day at the visiting club.

For safety reasons any child under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult and sat next to them at the stadium.’

(Tickets can be purchased online at nufc.co.uk/tickets or by calling 0844 372 1892 (calls to this number will cost 7p per minute plus your phone company’s access charge).

Rotherham United Official Statement:

Tickets are currently on sale to supporters who have a purchase history with the club, which includes season ticket holders who want to purchase extra tickets.

Should there by any tickets remaining, they will go on general sale at 9am Monday 19th September.*

* When the tickets go on general sale, any supporters who have not purchased tickets with Rotherham United before will need to provide us with a recent utility bill and photographic ID before purchasing tickets.

Any visiting supporters found in home areas will be ejected from the stadium for breaching Ground Regulations.

The club will be communicating with Newcastle United FC to cross reference any new supporters who have purchased tickets in the home end to make sure that they are not away supporters.

Should the club find that any away supporters have purchased tickets in the home areas of the ground, these tickets will be cancelled and will not work with the automated turnstile system.’
