Ian Holloway predicts Rotherham v Newcastle

Looking ahead to Saturday afternoon’s match at the New York Stadium, Ian Holloway says he ‘can’t say a bad word about Rotherham’.

The Sky Sports pundit says that the club who are bottom of the league ‘should be very proud of where their club is because being in the Championship and hanging on isn’t easy’.

Ian Holloway just a little condescending there…

As for Newcastle, he says that after Wednesday night’s comeback against Norwich, United are ‘starting to show their pedigree’.

Holloway saying that this win ‘could be the result that puts them on a right good run’.

Let’s hope so, although maybe not the most ambitious of predictions  seen as Newcastle had won six games on the bounce before slipping to Wolves at home two weeks ago.

Ian Holloway also doesn’t stray far from stating the obvious when  guessing who might get amongst the goals, putting forward Dwight Gayle as a likely lad, this being Dwight Gayle who scored a hat-trick in his last match and who has the best goal per minutes record in the Championship!

As for the match, despite his sympathy for Rotherham, Holloway has gone for a 2-0 win for Newcastle United.

Ian Holloway talking to Sky Sports:

I feel for Rotherham because I gave them a 1-0 win the other day and they didn’t get it but I can’t see them beating Newcastle at home.

“Rafa Benitez’s side will get a big boost from their win over Norwich, and Dwight Gayle could be among the goals again this weekend.

“Coming back from 3-1 down to win 4-3 could be the result that puts them on a right good run. They are starting to show their pedigree.

“I can’t say a bad word about Rotherham.

“I feel for their supporters but they should be very proud of where their club is because being in the Championship and hanging on isn’t easy.”
