Great news for Newcastle fans as Barnsley away tickets announced

Yesterday we brought you news on the price of Barnsley away tickets (see below).

The South Yorkshire club revealing their category prices for upcoming games and no surprise to see Newcastle fans having to pay more than the likes of Wigan, Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Bristol City supporters.

Barnsley listing the prices as £30 for adults, Over 65s £22, Under 22s £22, Under 17s £10 and Under 12s £5.

Now Newcastle United have confirmed that Barnsley away tickets will go on sale on Friday morning.

Tickets will be on sale from 10am today and initially it is to fans with 50 loyalty points or more.

The great news is that there are 5,500 tickets available, almost double what Aston Villa have supplied.

A Tuesday night in Barnsley…where else would you rather be?!!

Villa refusing Newcastle’s request for more tickets after United sold out, despite having parts of their stadium sealed off and empty for the whole season, plus their last Championship match featuring 13,000 empty seats.

On The Mag Thursday 15 September 2016:

When United visit Oakwell on Tuesday 18 October, it has been confirmed away fans will be paying top dollar for Barnsley v Newcastle tickets.

The South Yorkshire club use a number of price bands in a range of different categories.

The Barnsley v Newcastle tickets will cost both home and away fans £30 for adults as it is a Category A match.

In contrast, when Wigan visit Oakwell in November it will be only £23 for adults, it being a Category D game.

The four categories that Barnsley use are: Category A £30, Category B £28, Category C £25, Category D £23 (There is also an A* category of £36 but can’t see any sign of that being charged for Championship matches)..

For the Newcastle  game, as well as £30 for adults, it is: Over 65s £22, Under 22s £22, Under 17s £10 and Under 12s £5.

When the two clubs do meet, Adam Armstrong will only be an interested spectator. On loan at Oakwell until January, the 19 year old Geordie striker has helped Barnsley into third place, level on points with Newcastle – check out his stunning recent winner v Preston HERE.

As you will see below, they are having a ‘special ticket offer’ when they play Nottingham Forest.

Barnsley are charging their own (adult) fans only £15 but away Forest supporters £28, not sure how they are getting away with that one as I thought clubs had to charge both home and away supporters the same price for equivalent seats. Although maybe that rule has also been scrapped now, along with anything else that benefits fans.

Newcastle United Tuesday 18th October: CATEGORY A

Bristol City Saturday 29th October: CATEGORY C
