When United visit Oakwell on Tuesday 18 October, it has confirmed away fans will be paying top dollar for Barnsley v Newcastle tickets.
The South Yorkshire club use a number of price bands in a range of different categories.
The Barnsley v Newcastle tickets will cost both home and away fans £30 for adults as it is a Category A match.
In contrast, when Wigan visit Oakwell in November it will be only £23 for adults, it being a Category D game.
The four categories that Barnsley use are: Category A £30, Category B £28, Category C £25, Category D £23 (There is also an A* category of £36 but can’t see any sign of that being charged for Championship matches)..
For the Newcastle game, as well as £30 for adults, it is: Over 65s £22, Under 22s £22, Under 17s £10 and Under 12s £5.
Tickets are yet to go on sale to Newcastle supporters.
When the two clubs do meet, Adam Armstrong will only be an interested spectator. On loan at Oakwell until January, the 19 year old Geordie striker has helped Barnsley into third place, level on points with Newcastle – check out his stunning recent winner v Preston HERE.
As you will see below, they are having a ‘special ticket offer’ when they play Nottingham Forest.
Barnsley are charging their own (adult) fans only £15 but away Forest supporters £28, not sure how they are getting away with that one as I thought clubs had to charge both home and away supporters the same price for equivalent seats. Although maybe that rule has also been scrapped now, along with anything else that benefits fans.

Thursday also brought news that Aston Villa had refused to supply Newcastle with any more tickets after the 2,800 allocation had sold out, this being despite Villa having 13,000 empty seats for their last home game and whole sections of Villa Park closed off and unused.
