Remarkable update on Fulham v Newcastle tickets

The Championship kicks off live on TV in 24 hours time and the hosts have given a remarkable update on Fulham v Newcastle tickets for the game.

The West London club have revealed that the match is set for a total sellout and have taken the handful of remaining tickets off sale to online buyers.

Only a handful of single and restricted view tickets remain and they will go a first come first served basis on Friday morning to personal callers at the Fulham ticket office.

However, to buy any of these remaining tickets you must have a previous history of buying Fulham tickets, ruling out any Newcastle fans snapping them up…unless they have a Fulham supporting friend.

The positivity from Newcastle fans has been incredible considering the relegation and all 2,750 away tickets were snapped up straight away.

However, Fulham have a ‘mixed’ area next to the away section and on previous visits Newcastle fans have bought up the vast majority of these tickets – with this certain to be the case once again on Friday, Newcastle could have a maximum of 7,000 supporters backing them at Craven Cottage.

Credit to the home fans as well, Fulham were almost relegated last season and yet they have responded to this match in such a positive way, plus losing some of their best players.

Despite the match being televised live, a capacity crowd will fill Craven Cottage – with the official capacity listed at 25,700.

To put it into some perspective, last season Fulham recorded their highest attendance against Bristol City, with 20,316 inside Craven Cottage.

The Magpies may still have it all to prove once the action starts on the pitch but early indications are that Newcastle United’s relegation is going to be good news off the pitch for other Championship clubs.
